This is so good, and it's two mystery books in one. Plus, you can read on to Moonflower Murders and a third coming soon.
Magpie Murders: A Novel
Another from Anthony Horowitz and the start of a great series. The author even appears in them!
The Word Is Murder: A Hawthorne Mystery
This is a time loop thriller and it had me hooked from the start.
Wrong Place Wrong Time: A Novel
If you are a fan of The Secret History, this dark academia mystery will have you hooked. I loved it!
The Cloisters: A Novel
Set in 1901, this book is based in the Inner Temple, the heartland of London's legal world. Really enjoyed this and book two in the series is coming out this year.
A Case of Mice and Murder (International Edition)
Set in 1979 this is a mystery with community at its heart.
The List of Suspicious Things
Always excellent, P.D. James is a must-read for any detective fiction lover.

Death on the Riviera (Crime Classics)
This list wouldn't be complete without at least one Christie. Whether it's Marple, Christie or one of her standalones, you can't doubt that she was a master plotter!
The Murder at the Vicarage: A Miss Marple
I used to read Lisa Jewell back in the days of Ralph's Party. She has undergone a complete transformation in genre and I love her books either way.

I have read pretty much every book husband and wife team Nikki French have put out. They always keep you guessing until the end.
Has Anyone Seen Charlotte Salter?: A Novel
