This is a fun one for younger toddlers too, and it’s repetitive enough that my 4 year old can “read” it with me. He also likes lifting the flaps, and sometimes changes up which pet he thinks is “perfect” 😂

This is our favorite right now! Every time we see the letter y and say y for yak, we both say “Gertie was great at being a yak, with the curliest, whirrliest wool on her back”. The ending is so sweet with Gertie accepting herself as she is 💕

Not a lot of words in this one, but my kid thinks it’s absolutely hilarious. The gorilla is so naughty!

The legs are so soft! This is another one where my 4 year old likes to make up which sloth IS his sloth, and say the other ones are not.

Get your kid to say “oh no!!!” And “goodness no!” as part of a reading session. You won’t regret it! (Probably)

A classic for a reason! He can’t quite remember what comes next most of the time, so having a board book is clutch because he’ll try to peek ahead and see what’s there

The only problem with this book is that now I get asked constantly “is [animal] a solitary animal?” This is also known as the scary octopus book in our house, because the octopus is apparently a little bit scary🐙
