Lisbon's image is that it's good for views and pastel de nata (which is really true), but it’s also surprisingly good for books. These are my favorite libraries and bookshops - I go there for work, browse without a plan, spend too much time, and leave with at least one book to my never ending tower of books to read asap (Bonus list for book recommendations of what to look for in those bookstores)

Barcelona is mostly sunny, but when it's raining, it's way quieter and feels more local. I have been living here for over 6 months and focused most of my time to exploring the city and round abouts as much as I can. It was easy when it was warm and sunny, but what do you do when it's raining in a city like this? How do you prepare? I'm not the one to sit at home for long periods and rainy days are wayyyy less crowded in BCN, so as soon as dark time of the year hit, I gave myself a goal to get out of the house as often as in summer. I admire books that let you travel without leaving a physical place, they help you get to know different cultures, mindsets and open your own mind, also the ones that lets you feel the vibe of the place before or after you go there. These are my go to that I read, reread and would gladly read again
