With ALL hiking in Colorado there are a few things you MUST consider before heading out:
1) Proper equipment (food, lots of water, footwear, clothing, first aid kit)
2) Weather! It is always a good idea to start early as storms tend to roll in during the afternoon.
3) Download the trail map first. Most places do not have reception. Consider an emergency GPS/Satelitte device.
4) Notify someone of when to expect you back.
5) Practice Leave No Trace principles. This place is beautiful Stay on the path and leave it better than you found it!
