The tangled necklace nightmare was my breaking point. I tried pouches, rolls, and random boxes before landing on cases that separate each piece properly. These are the ones I now rotate depending on how much I'm packing.

Tangled chains were costing me actual money. I snapped a thin gold necklace trying to untangle it in a hotel bathroom in Chicago. These keep individual chains isolated so that never happens again.

Lost a favorite earring backing in a hotel carpet once. Spent forty minutes on my hands and knees with the phone flashlight. Never again. These keep small pieces locked down.

Watches and bracelets are the worst to pack because they're bulky and scratch each other. Learned that lesson when my watch face got scratched by a bangle in my suitcase pocket.

Even with a good case, things shift in checked luggage. A few extra accessories made the difference between arriving relaxed and arriving panicked about broken clasps.
