Oslo went from sunny to sideways rain to sunny again in three hours. I learned fast that one jacket wasn't going to cut it, and cotton was the enemy.

The park paths are a mix of gravel, stone, and wet grass. My first pair of shoes was a mistake I felt for three days after.

The sculptures change completely depending on the light and angle. I deleted half my phone photos because they were flat and boring. Bringing the right gear made a ridiculous difference.

You'll be walking for hours and there's nowhere to stash stuff inside the park. Everything you bring needs to be on your back, comfortable, and organized.

There's not much food inside the park itself, and Oslo restaurants can drain your wallet fast. I figured out a mix of nearby spots and pack-along snacks that kept me fueled without going broke.

Walking through 200 sculptures without context is like watching a movie on mute. Once I read up on Gustav Vigeland's story, every figure hit differently.

After three or four hours of walking, standing, and crouching for photos, small comforts made a huge difference. These are the things that kept me from cutting the visit short.
