I've lived in Seattle for about 6 months now. I am not by any stretch a foodie! But I like good food that is relatively affordable and doesn't require me to wait in long lines. Here's what I've found in Seattle so far that I would recommend.

Capital Hill

Lots of great choices all over Capital Hill. There are a lot of great places that are less crowded if you leave broadway.

Pretty good hand pulled noodles! I didn't think the “spicy” was particular hot but it was very tasty. Big portions!

Probably my most expensive recommendation but it is worth it! It's perfect for date night, we usually share 1 app, 1 veggie and 1 main and it's the exact right amount of food. Try the pork belly you'll thank me.

Surprisingly good tacos! The chorizo taco is my favorite. You can only get an order of 3 tacos of the same type, so come hungry or share with friends.

Really flavorful and interesting dishes! Really liked the curry. If you go on the earlier side there is usually not a wait. They only do reservations for large groups.
Taurus Ox

University District/Roosevelt

Definitely one of the more affordable areas for food, especially for lunch and dinner. Don't mind the UW students.

Great outdoor seating when it's nice out. The service is great, and speedy. Big menu but it's all good, especially the naans and tikka.

Only get their sushi burritos, which are a good portion and tasty. I think their bowls are a bit lackluster. But good for a quick lunch.

To be honest, calling this affordable is maybe a stretch. It's really good and really tasty but does feel way overpriced for brunch.

Really fun vibe and the food is pretty good.
Ông Lắm Bistro

Downtown/International District

Best for date nights and outings with friends. I still have a lot to explore in these areas!

Best spicy hotpot in Seattle! The flavors are really rich and the sauce bar is excellent. The only downside is the vegetable offering is a bit limited. Great for date night or big group of friends.

Probably my most eaten at restaurant in Seattle so far. The selection is incredible, but it is a bit on the oil-y side in my opinion. It can also have long lines so join the waitlist or go at off times.

This one is also a bit fancy, better for a date night! They have some really cool fusion sushi, some of it works better than others in my opinion.
Japonessa Sushi Cocina

Eastside

Not technically Seattle, but it's close enough! Only venture over for some truly amazing food.

Literally the best Indian food in Seattle. This is a chain from India, it is incredible. We had to wait 45 minutes, but it was worth it.
