I am starting the process of thinking about buying a house. This is a list of all the random things I've seen in houses I've looked at that I would love to have in a future house. And a few things I'd rather avoid.

Common Spaces
I love islands, I like the idea of a casual table and more space to chop/cook in the kitchen.
Kitchen Islands
Okay maybe this is controversial but I like the look and feel of a larger living room that fits a dining room table easily. I don't like dining rooms that are just a for a table and nothing else. I feel like it's a bit empty and sad. Plus it seems li...

I actually prefer when the kitchen is it's own space and not an open floor plan with the living room. I like to cook in secret.
Separate Kitchen and Living Room
Bedroom/Bathroom
Definitely not a must have but I like the idea of it a lot. Feels like it adds a lot of flexibility, could be used for remote working, relaxing, etc.
Bedroom Office nook
I want a large bathtub that is a standalone tub. This is my dream of dreams.

I just prefer this, it feels so much less cramped to me. The house I grew up in had this and I've just always like the spacious feel of the bedrooms not being on top of each other.
Bedrooms that don't share walls
Location/Outdoors
I'm a big fan of public transportation. My ideal house would be between a 5 and 15 minute walk from some sort of public transportation.
Near a bus or subway stop
Ideally its like an under 10 minute walk to a park. Then I can have a smaller more maintainable backyard and still have access to green space.
Smaller backyard but near a park
I want a nice backyard patio! For sitting and relaxing in the summer. I think a backyard patio is much better than a front porch or a deck.

It doesn't need to be fancy but I do prefer to have off street parking. With weather, I think a garage is probably worth its value in extending the life of the cars. Plus more storage!

Things I don't like
It's just weird, literally put the bathroom anywhere else besides right next to the kitchen. Especially if it's a full bathroom and not a .5!
Bathroom right off of the kitchen

This just feels sad to me. If I buy a house with one I can finish it but I just don't like the way it looks or feels.
Unfinished laundry rooms
Why were they built this way? I guess it can be for storage but it's so random and I don't feel like it adds to the house at all.
Random, un-usable spaces

It's just not worth the upkeep at all. Unless I live somewhere I can use it year round I just don't think it's worth it.
