As a current college student myself, I struggled in the first few weeks with knowing what I need to bring with me for lectures/studying and for accommodation. I wish I knew benable existed then to help me, so now I will help you.

I always have my airpods with me, and I find listening to music really helps me focus and study.

I have a Lenovo laptop and I highly recommend. Battery lasts so well and I feel it's the perfect size and weight to carry around daily. I have the ideapad 5, but I'm sure any Lenovo laptop would be perfect.

I have a turquoise 600ml YETI bottle and it's perfect for long days in college. Keeps your liquids at the perfect temperature and so easy to carry around. They come in many different colours and sizes so pick one that suits you!

I always put my handwritten notes into a binder like this and section them into different areas of study, it just makes things more organised for me.

I'd definitely recommend bic pens, they're the only ones I use (and everyone else). I'd definitely always have a blue and black one because for a lot of exams and lectures, they only let you use those colours.

Highlighters are also a must have stationery item for college. So useful for notes.

College accommodation can get quite cold so I'd highly recommend bringing a hot water bottle with you. I use mine every night during the colder months and sometimes even during the day. Wouldn't survive without it.

Something that I didn't have last year, but so glad I have this year. Makes it so easy to store and bring home dirty laundry, and also such a good price for such an important thing.

If you prefer taking notes on a laptop/ipad I couldn't recommend onenote enough. I use it everyday for all my notes and have never had any issues. Super easy to use and keeps everything organised.

OneNote

Another app I use a lot in college. Good substitute for Onenote for taking notes. I use it a lot when doing group projects because it allows you and your group to all edit a document at the same time.

MS Word

Again, this is another Microsoft app I'd use a lot for project work, whether in groups or individual.

I think ChatGPT has a very bad reputation in college by lecturers but I use it all the time, for good. I don't use it to cheat on exams or anything like that, I use it to generate exam questions for me based on my notes to help me study for exams whi...
