The best hikes in Victoria, from someone who lives here and spends all my spare time outdoors hiking. 🥾🗺️
Located in the Grampians, this 7.5km hike provides you with stunning views of the Southern end of the National Park
Signal Peak
Hands down one of my favourite hikes in Victoria. This one’s located in the Mount Buffalo National Park and offers stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Its short but the views are something magical.
The Horn
The perfect sunset spot for views over the prom!
Mount Oberon Summit
This 44km hike starts at Point Impossible and heads though to Fairhaven. It’ll take you past iconic outlooks like Bells Beach and the Split Point Lighthouse. You can opt to do the whole thing or break it up into smaller sections.
The Surf Coast Walk
This short hike takes you past 3 different waterfalls 💦 you’ll need heavy rain to see them at their ful impact though!
Waterfalls of Gar (Mount Difficult)
A lesser known hike but one not to be missed! Located in the far east of the state this walk (and climb) takes you to the top of a Rocky Mountain and gives you 360 degree views of the surrounding forest.
Genoa Peak
This walk starts at either the Zumstiens carpark or the McKenzie Falls carpark. Fish falls is the perfect place for a swim as well!
Fish Falls and Mackenzie Falls
My go-to hiking spot near Geelong. The circuit has steep sections, increbible views and an abundance of wildlife.
Ted Errey Nature Walk
A steep, yet rewarding hike with views over the surrounding hills. Small sections of rock scrambling required. This park can get quite busy, so I reccomend visiting off peak if possible.
Werribee Gorge Circuit
This small section of the Grampains Peak Trail is one of my favourites in the park.
Mount Rosea
A beautiful short walk with seasonal waterfalls and an abundance of indigenous history
Den of Nargun
One of the best views in the Alpine National Park. Right near the Iconic Bluff Hut.
The Bluff Summit
This one’s often done as an overnight hike but I’ve done it as a day trip. Well worth it for the incredible views over the Victorian High Country.
Mt Stirling Summit
A quieter alternative to the Mount Oberon Summit walk. The views are equally as stunning though!
Mount Bishop
A relatively easy loop throughout the Anglesea Heath bushland with views of the ocean and plenty of flora and fauna.
Anglesea Heath Bushwalking Loop
This short loop takes you past multiple scenic view points as well as Crystal Book Falls. A great way to see the sights of Mount Buffalo.
Gorge Heritage Walk
A relatively easy walk down to an impressive waterfall. Mostly downhill on the way down with a few stairs toward the end, so be prepared for an uphill walk on the way back to your car. The best part about this walk is that this one is dog friendly!
Beauchamp Falls
A nice short walk that shows you both the beautiful Wilson’s Prom as well as the local wildlife (think wombats, emus , kangaroos and even koalas)!
