I wanted something that didn't scream ‘construction site’ or ‘grandma’s cottage.' These gates fit between a house wall and a fence post without looking like an afterthought.

Cheap hardware was my first mistake. The latch rusted in three months and the gate swung open during a storm. Replaced everything with these and haven't touched them since.

The tricky part was anchoring a gate when I didn't have fence posts on both sides. One side was my house wall, the other was open air. These solved that.

A decorative gate means nothing if someone can just reach over and unlatch it. I needed actual security without turning my yard into a fortress.

The gate stopped foot traffic but people could still see straight through. For the side that faces the sidewalk, I added screening without building an actual fence.

Realized pretty quickly that a gate in a dark side yard is basically an invitation. Added lighting and the sketchy 2am noises stopped almost immediately.

I'm not a contractor. I own a basic drill and some optimism. These are the specific tools that got me through the install without calling anyone for help.
