The old power strip was on the floor collecting dust bunnies and she kept having to crawl under the desk to plug stuff in. These sit right on the desktop where they belong.

Getting the right power strip was only half the battle. The cables still looked like a rat's nest until I added a tray underneath the desk to hide everything.

Six-foot cables on a desk are ridiculous — you end up with loops of extra cord everywhere. Short cables changed the whole look overnight.

Once the cords were handled I realized her phone didn't even need a cable anymore. A charging pad on the desk meant one less thing to plug and unplug every day.

Some of the smartest products I found were organizers that have built-in charging — so the power strip disappears entirely and the desk just looks like a desk.

Raising her monitor to eye level AND adding USB ports underneath killed two problems with one product. Her neck stopped hurting and she gained charging ports.

Her desk lamp and diffuser were always left on overnight. Smart plugs let her shut everything off from bed without getting up — or I set them on a schedule so it's automatic.

After spending all that money on her setup I realized none of it was protected from a power surge. One bad storm could fry everything — so I added real protection.
