I’ve started tretinoin and for the next six weeks (through mid-April 2026) I’m going to put aside most of my actives so that I can get used to it. I’m going to spend most of my efforts on hydration and soothing. This is my list of what I’m going to be using for the next six weeks!

I swear by double cleansing my body in the shower a few times a week. Getting rid of flaky dry skin isn’t just about adding moisture. You need products that exfoliate and get the dead dry skin off so your hydrating products can work. But maybe you live in a hot climate. (Hello!) You can get really oily and under your arms, chest, belly, neck etc, you can get smelly. Products like this are your ticket. Be consistent and you’ll see results.

I really started enjoying MAC after watching a content creator on TikTok @elizabethcee. She is also on IG and YT but her content is different across channels. I just loved watching how she used the products and there are many I really enjoy. I’m showing the shades I use as a true winter. First…I'm not a derm – please talk to yours! I'm lucky to not have sensitive skin. I have “mature” combo-oily-dehydrated skin. I live in a humid climate in summers. My areas of focus are on actives that are anti-aging, barrier protecting, and hydrating. Generally, I am looking for cost-effective options, but they still have to work, so when it makes sense to spend a little extra, I sure will! (Sensitive skin folks, please take care with many actives like Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Retinoids and Acids that can be difficult for people to use.) I have used every item on this list. I have maturing skin, but I'm more combo/oily/dehydrated. I try to note if something would be great only for certain skin types, but otherwise I think it's probably good for anyone. I'm always looking for blurring and oil-control, so I don't mind niacinamide.
