Cosy Fantasy and Paranormal Books
All of these below I've read and really enjoyed!
I was lucky to get a Netgalley review copy of this book and it was so adorable! Cosy small town romance with just a hint of magic. Super sweet.
The Magical Matcha Teashop by Natasha Bache
You've probably heard of this book if you're into cosy fantasy, but it really is a lot of fun!
Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
One of my fave series, Assistant to the Villian is more on the chaotic end of the cosy fantasy scale but it still has that cosy vibe to it. And it's funny.
Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
This is SUCH a sweet book! The characters are adorable and the baby dragons are stinkin' cute! Very cosy.
The Baby Dragon Cafe by Aamna Qureshi
The first in an interconnected triology, The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton is a lot of fun. There are flying houses. Need I say more?
The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
I had a lot of fun reading this book! It's more paranormal, with vampires, but it's got a bit of everything: sunny and grumpy trope, home decorating, moody estate, small town, book clubs, murder!
Fangs for Nothing by Steffanie Holmes
A whimsical tale of a lonely social worker who heads to an orphange filled with magical children. Found fmaily vibes, very sweet.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
I’m going to be honest and say I didn’t realise this was a magic book. As in, I needed a shortish audiobook to get me through the work day, and this came up on my Libby app as available and it looked, at a very brief glance, to be cute, and it was se... It turned out to be a sweet cosy fantasy!
Bespoke & Bespelled by Karen Healey
The first in another interconnected series by India Holton, this one was also brilliant. If you like the Regency era and birds and magic and romance, this series is a goodie!
The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love by India Holton
Haven't read but have heard great things
Okay so I haven't read these ones yet but they're on my TBR and am looking forward to picking them up sometime! Let me know if you read them and what you thought!
This one is very popular and sounds like my kinda book! Definitely one to check out if you like cosy fantasy.
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
I know I know. I need to read this. I'm really looking forward to picking up this book sometime! I'll let you know what I think when I've read it (and move it out of this section haha).
The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst
“A curmudgeonly professor journeys to a small town in the far north to study faerie folklore and discovers dark fae magic, friendship, and love in the start of a heartwarming and enchanting new fantasy series.” Sign me the flip up.
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
Another one by Sangu Mandanna that I need to read! This one was a Goodreads Choice Award winner for 2025.
A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
I've read a few by TJ Kingfisher now but not this one! Magic, bakeries, assassins. Sounds excellent.
A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher
Another one by Sarah Beth Durst I need to read! It sounds absolutely delighful!
