This novel is set in the Alien universe and kept me on edge the entire time reading. The plot thickens and never stagnates, it's sci-fi action from beginning to end
Alien: The Cold Forge - Alex White
Really comprehensive introduction to the Alien novels, these books will leave you wanted to read more of the stories in the Alien Universe!
The Complete Alien Collection: The Shadow Archive (Out of the Shadows, Sea of Sorrows, River of Pain)
Great books but "Prototype" stands out as it introduces a new type of Alien Xenomorph!!
Won't spoil if for you but it's by far the deadliest Alien species I've read about, as it hasn't been introduced in cinema.
The Complete Alien Collection: Symphony of Death
Not one Alien in the book, but it's has more Blade Runner vibes, it introduces life on Earth around the time of Aliens and the various stories. It's depicted much like the Alien TV show!
Alien: Covenant Origins - The Official Prequel to the Blockbuster Film
Great trilogy and the epitome of Alien, Predator and Marines conflict in my opinion. This series also introduce a new race into the Alien Universe, a race call Drukathi, first seen in Alien - Out of Shadows, a novel that's also a must read!
The Rage War Trilogy by Tim Lebbon
Best story involving Colonial Marines in the Alien Universe; besides The Rage Wars. The artwork is dark and vivid, leaving a lasting impression on me. Probably will be dreaming of face huggers and Xenomorphs after reading these graphic novels.
Aliens: Defiance Graphic Novels - Vol 1
A really cool book if you like Kaiju stories. The Kaiju universe Scalzi depicts in this book is super interesting.
The Kaiju Preservation Society - John Scalzi
Really enjoyed this Saga, Dune is a world that you feel a part of, Frank Herbert illustrates the Dune universe perfectly and transports the reader into every conflict, environment and story arc in these books. One of, if not my favorite saga.
Frank Herbert's Dune Saga 3-Book Boxed Set: Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune
Really cool series of stories, the protagonist is whitty, charming and a bit rude, but that brings you into his world. A sci-fi universe that opens your imagination.
The Murderbot Diaries: All Systems Red, Artificial Condition, Rogue Protocol, Exit Strategy
The author is a really underrated Sci-fi storyteller, his books paints a unique universe that is unlike any other. Some of his books are must reads if you're a sci-fi fan.
Elder Race - Adrian Tchaikovsky
The sequel to Ready player one a book and cinematic story in a Sci-fi world where virtual reality is the main form of social interaction.
The book is a step away from the prequel, there's a lot of focus on popular culture, but it's a fascinating journey into a dystopian world.
Ready Player Two: A Novel
Dystopian
Love.. love.. love this book!! The world building, the characters and the story sets this book apart from other Sci-fi stories. A must read if you want to visit a world that is truly one of a kind.
Cage of Souls (Shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke Award 2020)
A unique perspective on the deviance of youth and how group dynamics can interplay with violence and other traits in people when stretched to their limits. A dystopian look at social relations and community.
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
You have to almost learn a new language while reading this, some of the book is written in a Slavic dialect which you have to unpack. The book is a unique take on a world that is both violent and strange.
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
A great dystopian novel warning us about the future and the pitfalls of technology, eugenics and more. The sci-fi world of the story lends it to be one of the best and classics examples of dystopian fiction.
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
A real good novel that stays relevant, It's also a love story too. A very classic book that tugs at the old heart strings and challenges our preconceptions about good and evil.
1984 by George Orwell
Cosmic Horror
Basically a precursor to the Lovecraftian universe, these stories are unique and eerie.
The King in Yellow (Haunted Library of Horror Classics)
If you're a fan of cosmic horror then this collection of stories is a must read. You will be thrusted into a time and place that will shock you to your core. Some of the characters and entities in these stories are beyond your wildest imagination and...
H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction (Barnes & Noble Collectible Editions)
Fantasy
Best fantasy fiction in my opinion, only other author that is on this level is J. R. Tolkien. In the books, there is some stuff that's not in the TV Show, for e.g.. a certain person who died at the Red Wedding isn't dead in the books and was complete...
Also the books have no ending as yet so the story could end very differently whenever George R. R. Martin finishes the series.
George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones Leather-Cloth Boxed Set (Song of Ice and Fire Series)
Brian Sanderson's take on hard magic is a fresh new perspective on how magic is used in stories. Too many times magic works randomly to benefit the protagonist without explanations. In this series, the magic isn't infinite, they're limits to how magi...
Mistborn Trilogy Boxed Set: Mistborn, The Well of Ascension, The Hero of Ages
Such lovely art and an addition to a classic story! These sequel graphic novels are great and introduce us to the work of Thra that wasn't included in the cinematic storyline.
