Theres definitely some obvious spots, but if you're willing to drive 5 minutes over the bridge theres options that might be more budget-friendly!

Set right in the hub of downtown Salem

Hotel Salem | Boutique Hotel in Salem, MA

This would be my pick for the area. It's located in Beverly which is the town next to Salem. Its right in the heart of downtown that has so many shops and restaurants to choose from.

The Cabot Lodge | Boutique Hotel in Beverly, MA

Conveniently located directly across the street from the Beverly train station. Definitely worth staying here to save some money and not have to worry about parking in Salem; take the train! :-) Its probably a 8 minute train ride at most.

This is a brand new hotel that just opened! They have cool themed rooms and it's located not too far from downtown Salem.

Hands down my favorite when it comes to coffee and food. Their tot sauce is to die for! You cannot go wrong with anything here and the portion sizes are so generous!

Hands down the best bagels in Massachusetts. The line can get long on weekends, but typically moves very fast! 1000 percent a must go spot.

My suggestion is to travel over to Beverly for dinner; you'll miss the crowds and honestly better restaurants in my opinion!

The best mexican in the area. Great chips, salsa and queso. Excellent drinks. If you're brave, try the dire wolf!

Newly renovated and revamped! Love this spot. Nice size menu, something for everyone!

Longboards

Just over the bridge in Beverly. This place is worth the drive. Huge menu, amazing food, excellent service & drinks. This is our go to spot for Friday nights.

The best pizza around & excellent martinis.

Soma Beverly

Vibes, vibes, vibes. Excellent food & drinks. The Mai Tais & Coconut Margarita are the faves.

Bonefish Harry's

Started out as a secret spot; it has now become a staple for Salem. Their cookie flavors rotate weekly.

Goodnight Fatty

RUN here for their pumpkin soft serve & sundaes of the week. The best ice cream spot.

Located right on the water; beautiful views & yummy food.

Located over the bridge in Beverly, the best non-toxic candles I've ever owned. Pumpkin coffee is the BEST fall scent. I have it constantly lit in my house.

Look no further for the best home decor, clothing, jewelry, kitchenware, kids items. An absolutely beautiful store that the owner pours her heart and soul into. Must visit while you're in Beverly!
