Museums We Visited
World-class museums we checked out in Oslo and Bergen.
Another cool museum that was an easy fairy ride to get to. Both my 8 and 12 year old really loved getting to explore the ship. We got in free using the Oslo Pass we purchased for using public transportation.
The Fram Museum
This was a really fun art museum to visit. It was so fun to see The Scream in person and the Monumental room was very impressive! We got in free with our Oslo Pass. We made sure to go to the very top floor to check out the view of Oslo as well.
Munch
Amazing museum with tons to see and explore. We didn't even see it all, but loved what we did see. The Stave Church was really cool and being able to go into the old buildings was really cool for my 8 and 12 year old. We also loved that there was a c...
The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History
Transportation
Safe, reliable transportation in Oslo!
We purchased this and while the price initially was a shock, the benefits of this pass were quickly utilized. In addition to being able to use all public transport, this also got us into many museums for free and we were able to use a small ferry as ...
Oslo Pass - Official City Card
We used the Flytoget to get from the Oslo airport to the National Theater Station (closest to our hotel). The train was clean, safe, and FAST.

Where We Stayed
The hotels and accommodations we personally stayed at during our Norway trip. Family-friendly, comfortable, and great locations for exploring.
Great hotel for a family of 4. We were impressed with how quiet it was, especially for our room being close to the elevators. The breakfast that was included was out of this world delicious! Homemade pancakes, fresh baked bread, fish, fresh cheeses, ...
Thon Hotel Slottsparken
This was such a beautiful historic hotel. We had an end room with a patio, which was fairly quiet. There was a bunk bed in the room, which my kids loved. The bathroom was good size. We added breakfast to our stay and it was delicious. We also did the...
Historic Fretheim Hotel in Flåm | Norway’s best
We stayed here with our family of 4. It was a bit tighter than our Thon hotel in Oslo, but worked for us. The bathroom was a good size and had heated floors. Breakfast was included and had a nice mix of very fresh, local foods. The lobby had a nice s...

Where We Ate
All the local restaurants and food stands we tried in Oslo, Flåm, and Bergen.
We went here based on social media recommendations. We tried the reindeer sausage, as suggested. It did not disappoint! My daughter tried one with cheese in it and she really loved it. It's such a fun food stand with fast service. It was walking dist...
This was such a fun atmosphere with great food. We walked here from our hotel (there are steps you have to go up). They have great outdoor seating, but at chose to sit inside. I really wanted to try the Sunday roast, but they had only just reopened t...
Dr. Wiesener
Another great food experience! We really wanted to to some traditional Norwegian foods and this was recommended to us. We chose to do the buffet. They had a great selection and we sampled most of it. Our families favorites were the reindeer meatballs...
Taste of Norway | Local food | Kong Oscars gate 26, Bergen, Norway
Quite certain we stopped here every single day for coffee and a skillingsbolle - so good! Everything was to-die-for. The pastries were so light and fluffy and the coffee was a nice light roast.
