Iglesia de La Merced is beautiful on the outside and free to enter, but the real gem is paying to see the ex-convento next door—climb up to the rooftop (careful, no handrails!) for amazing views and a dose of 18th-century history.

You can swim and cliff jump here! Just a few minutes’ walk from the San Marcos boat dock, this nature spot has a wooden platform with a 40 ft drop into the lake—perfect for a quick thrill and a cool dip.

I didn’t get to do this one, but it looks like an awesome activity—catching sunrise at Indian Nose Overlook with epic lake and volcano views. Early wake-up, but totally worth it when the sky lights up in colors.
