Protein drinks with whey, pea protein and more. Lots of different types of protein bars including sweet and/or savory.
One of my favorite things about the Nurri Vanilla Ultra Filtered Shake is it's consistency. It is not thick, drinks more like a glass of milk. I love the flavor and how well it goes down. 30 grams of protein is an easy amount to ingest with this type of drink. After gastric surgery I need 90 grams of protein a day. This is so easy to get in a good portion of my daily requirement. I haven't tried the chocolate but if it's anything like the vanilla, it won't disappoint!
Nurri 30g Protein Shake, Vanilla, 11 fl oz, 12-pack
Orgain is by far my favorite protein powder. I prefer the plant protein (pea protein) to the whey but both are good. The vanilla is a true vanilla flavor and the chocolate is true chocolate flavor. The vanilla I often blend with frozen fruit, yogurt and sometimes green vegetable juice. It is very filling and satisfying and packs a lot of protein. Orgain is organic and I trust this brand. As the company has grown the products have stayed high quality. I highly recommend Orgain protein powders.
Organic Protein™ Plant Based Protein Powder
Orgain chocolate protein shake is my favorite. It is so good and chocolatey. It has a thicker consistency than milk and that gives it a rich taste. You don't have to refrigerate it unless it's been opened so you can pack it around in the car with you and use it as a snack or meal.
Orgain Protein Shakes & Clean Protein
Equate protein shakes are WalMart's brand. These taste very similar to Premier Protein shakes. I like the vanilla and caramel flavors and add them to my coffee in place of creamer. I prefer the quality of Orgain protein shakes over Equate and Premier but this is ok if the other isn't available.
Equate Protein Shakes in Equate Protein(10)
Orgain's protein bars taste good and aren't too sweet as many other bars. They're small so if you're really hungry, one bar may not be satisfying. They store well in my car so when I need a quick snack it's readily available. I recommend these bars if you're looking for something that is not real sweet like a candy bar but also not like a seed or nut bar. It's a good go-to.

These bars are rich and sweet. I loved the lemon flavor so much that I burned myself out on it. Pure Protein bars are kind of like a dessert for me. Candy bar-like, I don't use them for a meal. They are tasty! Update: I found some new-to-me flavors of Pure Protein bars and decided to try them. I sampled Cocoa Pebbles, Fruity Pebbles, Zig Zag Cake and Galactic Brownie. Wow. The Fruity Pebbles tasted exactly like the cereal. I noticed a little chemical after taste with the brownie but otherwise these were incredible. And filling. Here's the problem: Sugar alcohols! Maltitol. And 7g of it. Why, Pure Protein? Why! There is no reason monk fruit or allulose can't be used. If you partake of these delicious bars, pace yourself. The 20g of protein is nice, 190 calories is fine. But the sugar alcohols will grenade your intestines if you overeat. Will I buy these again? Yes. But I think I'll have half a bar at a time!
Protein Bars
I love RXbars. Minimal ingredients and great flavor. They're what I call “clean food.” Just good, basic ingredients. I highly recommend RXbars. Not a huge amount of protein but enough to give you a satisfied fullness and carry you to your next meal.
RXBAR
Oh wow, are these ever good! I've had the coconut and brownie batter flavors and they're amazing. Marshmallow-like inside and covered in chocolate, the Built Puff bars are full of protein and decadent. Definitely tastes candy bar-like. These are a treat for me and there are no other protein bars like Built Puffs. I recommend these bars if you are looking to up your protein with a bar that eats like a treat.

These protein bars taste like the old fashioned wafer cookies. I REALLY like these. They are light, tasty and easy on the stomach. The one thing I don't like about them is the saturated fat. They use palm oil and I think that is an ingredient they should consider changing. The protein grams are there, flavor is there and unique in texture from other protein bars. I recommend them but due to the saturated fat content, consume in moderation.
Original Wafer Protein Bars
Oh boy, are these good! I've had the vanilla creme and the triple chocolate. They are light and crunchy, just like a wafer cookie. The 220 calories are higher than I usually eat and with just 13g protein but they are a nice change of pace. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors.
Original Wafer Protein Bars
This is not my favorite protein drink. I experience an after-taste with any of the flavors. It is one I will use in a pinch, however. With 30g of protein when I need a big hit in a little bottle I'll grab one of those. The caramel is my go-to. I put it in my coffee. Being a coffee purist I tend not to put things in my coffee but this takes away some of the after-taste and I get a caramel coffee. There's a lot of flavors to choose from and so many people like this product. What I can tell you is, try it. Try all of the flavors and decide for yourself. I'll keep exploring more drinks.
Premier Protein
Quest has a lot going on. Chips, bars, cookies, wafers, etc. I love the protein chips, so full of flavor, easy on the bypass pouch and just the right amount in each bag. The other products I don't eat much of. The reason? Sugar alcohols. Erythritol, maltitol, sorbitol; there are several different sugar alcohols and all of them cause gastric distress. The flavor is ok but the company's choice of sweetener is not. I don't recommend them based on that alone.
Quest Nutrition
I like these! I expected maybe a chalky texture and didn't experience that at all. Delicious, sweetened with stevia instead of sugar alcohols or fruit juice. It's so easy to grab and go and I think, Chobani, well-done!
High Protein Greek Yogurt Drinks
Core Power Protein Shakes are from the Fairlife company. This is a popular company for their ultra-filtered milk products and protein drinks. I like these protein drinks. The taste is good, no sugar alcohols (although they do use three different sweeteners) and they pack a heavy nutritional punch. Huge amount of protein and calcium. Strangely enough, I would like to see some fiber instead of guar gum but you can't have everything, right? This is an expensive product so I don't drink it a lot. If I'm out and about I'll grab one from the store cooler and enjoy.
Core Power Protein Shakes: High Protein Drinks for Recovery and ...
Ok, let's get down to this. 35g protein (milk protein concentrate, milk protein isolate), 1 g sugar, 190 calories. Boost has a lot of different versions of their protein drinks but I decided to try this o ne based on it being GLP-1 friendly. I am not using GLP-1 products myself but thought I'd try it anyway. I purchased Very Vanilla flavor. It doesn't taste much different to me than Premier Protein. It was just ok, in my opinion. I like the amount of protein though. Can I recommend it? Sure. Why not.
BOOST® Advanced Nutritional Shake
I sampled the Vanilla flavor. This product has calcium HMB (Calcium beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate). Hmmm, not sure I need this. I look it up. the Calcium HMB is to keep you from burning muscle during extreme training/exercise and make fat tissue more of a target. I've not seen conclusive results. Anyway, it's a nice amount of protein from milk protein concentrate, low sugar and 160 calories. The flavor is a little better than Boost Advantage but it's close.
Ensure® Max Protein 2-in-1 Muscle Support
The Glucerna company has a wide variety of beverages, and here is the link for the page that helps you find the one that's right for you. glucerna.com/product-comparison I had the Glucerna Protein Smart vanilla today. I thought it was delicious! 150 calories, 30g protein from milk protein concentrate, 7 carbs and 4g fiber (fiber!). They have added a negligible amount of fructose (3g total sugars) in addition to other sweeteners. All in all I'm pleased with this product. It doesn't carry that chemical aftertaste that so many do. It was thinner in consistency than some but I prefer that. If my pouch is happy, I'm happy. I will definitely purchase this again.

Oikos is made by the Danone company. With an impressive amount of protein and just 170 calories, it's right in there for those of us with bariatric surgery. It also has 5mg of fiber. The ingredient list is short, which says a lot that it's not a product stuffed full of junk additives. The flavor is natural and it's sweetened with stevia. I can recommend this product even though it doesn't pack a flavor punch like some other protein beverages.
Oikos Protein Shake Vanilla 30g, Shelf Stable
With 240 calories, let's call this what it is: candy bar. 18g protein from peanuts and whey it is sweetened with just about everything. Maltitol (sugar alcohol), sugar, corn syrup solids, sucralose. With 11g of fat and 5g of sugar alcohols, I won't be eating another one of these. It does redeem itself a little bit with 10g of fiber. Let's face it, this bar is delicious but if you ware not an active person, frequent consumption of this will cause you weight gain. For my own self, Yikes!
