Spooky, But Make It Chic: My Favorite Aesthetic Halloween Decor from Etsy
15
items I live for the moment the calendar flips to September. It's officially spooky season! But as much as I love Halloween, I'm very particular about my decor. I've searched high and low on Etsy for the best handmade finds that feel more "eerie elegance" ...
These are the foundation of any chic autumn setup. The velvet is so luxe and they come in gorgeous, moody colors like rust, olive, and charcoal. I scatter a few on my mantle and bookshelf all season long.
Velvet Pumpkins
The cutest and coziest way to enjoy your morning coffee or tea in October. There are so many artisans making these sweet little ghost mugs, and they are guaranteed to make you smile. They sell out fast!
Ghost Mug
I'm obsessed with this trend of "antique" ghost paintings. It's typically a print of a vintage landscape or portrait with a subtle, spooky ghost figure painted into it. It’s a clever piece of art that’s more moody than scary.
Minimalist Ghost Halloween Art Print
This is pure gothic elegance. A beautifully detailed, anatomically correct skull candle in black or bone-colored beeswax looks so sophisticated on a bookshelf or as a centerpiece. Almost too pretty to burn.
Beeswax Skull Candle
A classic, understated nod to the Haunted Mansion. It’s a perfect greeting for guests all season long and feels much more stylish than a generic "Happy Halloween" mat.
Welcome Foolish Mortals
This is the definition of subtle spooky. A simple, beautifully embroidered spiderweb in the corner of a linen or velvet pillow is such an elegant and unexpected detail for your couch.
Spider Web Pillow
Forget paper cutouts. A handmade stained glass bat hanging in the window is the ultimate gothic decor. It catches the autumn light beautifully and feels like a piece of art.
Stained Glass Bat
The official uniform for October, but make it minimalist. A super soft, cozy sweatshirt with "Spooky Season" or a tiny ghost embroidered on the collar is perfect for pumpkin patch visits and scary movie nights.
Spooky Embroidered Sweatshirt
The perfect accessory for a "spooky charcuterie" night. This cute little ghost board is great for serving cheeses, snacks, or just leaning against your kitchen backsplash as decor.
Ghost Shaped Cutting Board
For the spooky plant parent. A minimalist concrete skull acts as a surprisingly chic little planter for an air plant or a small succulent. It’s a great way to blend their love for plants and Halloween.
Skull Air Plant
You need a cozy blanket for scary movie marathons. A super-soft, oversized chunky knit throw in a color like charcoal gray, burnt orange, or olive green adds texture and warmth to your living room.
Chunky Knit Blanket in a Moody Color
Set the entire mood with the right scent. Look for candles with notes of old books, woodsmoke, leather, and autumn spices. It makes your whole house feel like a cozy, haunted mansion.
Haunted Library Soy Candle
A nod to gothic curiosity cabinets. A high-quality print of a vintage scientific bat illustration looks incredibly smart and sophisticated in a simple black frame.
Vintage Bat Print
A perfect little catch-all for rings, keys, or crystals. A small, handmade coffin dish in ceramic or concrete is a subtle, year-round piece of gothic decor for a nightstand or entryway table.
Coffin Dish
A simple, reusable, and non-tacky way to decorate a mantle, doorway, or bookshelf. A garland of simple black felt bats is minimalist, cute, and adds the perfect festive touch without being overwhelming.
