Simple and elegant! I know looks aren't the most important when it comes to cat furniture, but it doesn't hurt, right? The only thing I would add is an anti-slip surface on the steps.

There are a lot of variants for these kind of mats, but it is a MUST! Put it in front of the litterbox and when you cat exits, this mat catches the litter off their paws!
