Hey y'all! I've recently taken on the hobby of baking sourdough bread and other goodies with sourdough starter! I started from scratch and after having done this a few months, here are the recommendations I have for useful products! I will update thi...
A dough whisk saved my hands from getting super sticky and worked very well.

It's important not to use metal with sourdough because it can kill the yeast - opt for ceramic or glass! Also make sure you have big enough bowls because sometimes the dough can grow really big.

Bannetons with cloths are very handy when it comes to bread baking. It helps to have a nice surface for the bread to proof on!

These are amazing to clean. Do not use metal for sourdough unless it is stainless steel; use wood or silicone!

I personally like my bread best when it's baked in a loaf pan - it rises a bit more and has more of a sandwich shape to it!

A dutch oven is not a necessity for baking sourdough, but it IS the traditional way to bake it! I recommend going for a 5-6 quart DO.
Dutch Oven
I recommend using a jar that has no neck (is straight up and down) and doesn't need to be sealed all the way - sourdough starter is harder to clean with narrow neck jars, and starter needs to breathe just a little! I use no-neck mason jars and one bi...

I recommend using CLEAR shower caps to cover your bread while it proofs! You can see the bread as it rises and you can reuse the shower caps, so no more wasting single use plastic bags or plastic wrap.

Not gonna lie, slicing fresh bread is harder than it looks. My cuts are never straight and the slices are never even. This tool is phenomenal.
