My current top 12. I've been reading LitRPG for almost 10 years, between all literature sources I have read over 1,000 titles. Love these series, I hope you will too!
#1 on my list, a VRMMO deep progression with aggressive power scaling and some crafting. One of the best side characters in all of fiction, the mad master alchemist Alph. A genius alchemist that can brew anything on request…..or he might blow up half...
Nova Terra: Titan - LitRPG/GameLit Adventure
#2 on my list, system apocalypse LitRPG, MC Jake is a former office worker turned hunter/battle junkie. Excellent worldbuilding, oh and he's best buds with one of the strongest gods in the multiverse, no biggie.
The Primal Hunter
#3 on my list and climbing! Incredibly underrated series, MC Garrett Klein is a cripple that uses his wit and cerebral powers to climb the rungs of the fantasy underworld. Excellent read.
Dreamer's Throne: A Fantasy LitRPG Adventure
#4 on my list, an epic cultivation grind, with some top tier worldbuilding and faction building. You're in for a ride with this one, strap in for the long haul.
Defiance of the Fall: A LitRPG Adventure
#5 A fiery food loving healer/pugilist hybrid. Steamrolls her way through a chaotic system world. One of the most iconic female leads in the genre.
Azarinth Healer Book One: A LitRPG Adventure
#6 By far the funniest series in the genre and one of the funniest series you will read , period. It is such a wacky, wild ride.
Dungeon Crawler Carl: Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 1
#7 A very well done and highly popular series. One of my favorite main characters in the genre. Character development, phenomenal worldbuilding, and some good ole Aussie humor.
He Who Fights with Monsters: A LitRPG Adventure
#8 Incredibly underrated series. Intro has an intersting twist to your standard LitRPG. Multiple POVs/Main Characters (which I usually hate), but this is done so well.
Monsters and Legends: LitRPG Cultivation Saga
#9 Another underrated series, VRMMO world MC Ned finds himself with a major headstart on release which paints a target on his back. He goes on the run with only a hilariously bloodthirsty, talking axe to keep him company.
Shadeslinger: The Ripple System, Book 1
#10 This one is the full package of what a LitRPG should be. Does everything well, excellent class abilities, well paced, full of action. Great series.
The Grand Game, Book 1: Dark Fantasy LitRPG
#11 favorite non-human MC LitRPG. A boy reincarnated as an ant in a deadly dungeon fights, evolves, and builds a swarm to survive. One of the most unique perspectives in the genre.
Chrysalis: The Antventure Begins LitRPG
#12 Two marines are transported to a fantasy world. They use their experience to carve out a piece of that world for themselves. Strong faction building with crafting elements. A great read.
