Day 1 at PCB
Early morning with the littles and Kiki's FIRST walk down to the beach! 🥹🏖️ Unfortunately, it was short-lived because this child thought it was a great idea to immediately bum rush the shoreline, fall TWICE, and try to get way too close to some pretty choppy water. 😭 And yes, I had already told him multiple times to stay back. As someone born and raised in Hawaiʻi, I don't play around with the ocean. I know enough to know that I don't know these currents or tides, and I respect the ocean enough to not fuck around and find out. And my kids will learn the same. The weather was already looking rough, so we headed back to the beach cottage for some indoor games and family time. Thankfully, the weather eventually cleared up, which meant the kids got some pool time! Then, at sunset, we took the kids back down to the beach for a proper walk—and honestly, it was the perfect way to end our first day in PCB. POV: it's your son's first time at the beach... and it was short-lived. 😂🏖️ He was SO excited to finally see the ocean, but within minutes he was running toward the shoreline, falling twice, and trying to test his luck with some very choppy water. Day 3 at PCB
Started the morning off playing Frisbee in our PJs with the kiddos because apparently nobody believes in getting dressed first. 😂 Eventually we changed, headed to the pool, and let the kids live their best vacation life. They even got their faces painted before it was time for Kirby and I to get ready for a little day-date. 🤍 And honestly, our plans were nothing fancy. We wanted to check out the Ross in the area... FAILED. 😂 Then we tried to get matching tattoos... ALSO FAILED. 💀 So naturally, we went with the one plan we knew wouldn't disappoint: KOREAN BBQ. 🥩🔥 Bellies? FULL. Hearts? HAPPY. Day-date? POV: come with us on our day-date in PCB. 🌴☀️ Of course, first stop had to be Ross... and that was a FAIL. 😂 So we thought, okay, let's get matching tattoos! Another FAIL. 💀 The tattoo shop wasn't even fully open and the whole situation was just... weird. So we took that as our sign and kept it moving. 😂 Next stop: souvenir shopping! And obviously we couldn't leave without getting the kiddos those spray-painted shirts with their names on them. Instant nostalgia. 🥹💛 But let's be real...the MAIN reason for this day-date was Korean BBQ. 😋🔥 And I paid for dinner bc we are also celebrating his birthday which is tomorrow 🤪 We ate until our bellies were FULL, and somehow I ended up tipsy for the second time that day. 😂🍹 Honestly, I will ALWAYS choose a day-date over an evening date. DAY 4 AT PCB
Pais and Pop snuck out to the beach EARLY so they could get some metal detecting time in without the toddlers. 😂 Then the rest of us parents woke up and met them down there to see all their treasures! Of course... Kiki showed up with a whole ass meltdown and immediately became the vibe killer. 😭 Bitch, don't kill our vibeeee. 😂💀 We headed back to the beach cottage to relax for a bit and get ready to go back out for the afternoon. What you DON'T see on camera is me catching wave after wave on the boogie board because apparently I found my happy place again. 🌊🤙🏽 But I DID manage to catch Kiki in action living his best beach life. 😂 The sun was absolutely deadly, so we showered early and Kirby decided we needed to go find something to do. The kids wanted henna tattoos, so that's what we did! Then we somehow ended up in this HUGE candy store where I found the most delicious gummy bears I've ever had. 🤤🍬 Eventually we headed back to the cottage, put Kiki to bed, and everyone settled down for the night. Then I asked Kirby if he wanted to sneak out for a walk on the beach... So we did. 🌙🌊 Just the two of us. No kids asking for snacks. No one crying. No one needing anything. Just walking on the beach and having an uninterrupted conversation. POV: LAST DAY — Day 5 of our summer vacation in PCB. 🌊☀️ We started our last morning nice and slow with some board games I brought for the kids. These are magnetic travel games, so they're perfect for vacation—less mess, easy cleanup, and nothing flying off the table every five seconds. 😂 Of course, Paisleigh and I had to run it back with Guess Who... because apparently I needed to prove AGAIN that I'm undefeated. 😆 We played last night before bed and I won then too. Sorry, Pais. 😂🏆 But it was our LAST DAY, which meant there was absolutely no way we were leaving PCB without one more beach day. 🌊 So off we went! We soaked up those last beach moments, enjoyed the ocean, the sand, and all the chaos that came with five days of family vacation. Then we finished it off with one last rinse-off dip in the lazy river. 🏖️💦 And just like that... that's a wrap. We packed up the car and hit the road around 4 PM, thinking we'd have a smooth ride home. Yeah... no. 😂 Kiki took FOREVER to get comfortable and fall asleep, which explains all the crying happening in the backseat. 😭 Eventually, he finally passed out looking like a tiny vacation mummy with his blanket completely covering his head. 💀😂 We made it home safely around 11 PM. And when we pulled into the driveway? We immediately got in bed. The car stayed packed. The bags stayed packed. The mess stayed EXACTLY where it was.
