An old school turned into a boutique hotel. It is charming to see the way they preserved the history of the school. The rooftop bar shows our small little town, nestled in the mountains.
The Schoolhouse Hotel
The Varsity Club is superb. We celebrated my new house with dinner here.
The Varsity Bar and Grille
Gluten free buns, gluten free pizza crust, gluten free pasta. The Drunk Monkey is delicious, but you can only drink one!
Max on Main
I took a watercolor painting workshop here. There’s magic slipping through every part of this space.
Wren's Nest Art Studio
It’s like entering a Hobbit hole. Relaxing, therapeutic experience nestled in the hillside.
Pomona Salt Cave & Spa
The meals are on point. Delicious food.
Gustard's Bistro
She has an eclectic collection of clothing, jewelry, and bags. So friendly and personable.
MerryWeather’s
I love this majestic resort. We have stayed, but you are also able to just visit for a day. An explosion of colors and florals inside, courtesy of Dorothy Draper. Afternoon tea is delightful.
The Greenbrier Resort
A great example of WV’s state parks. Quietly tucked away, but close to town. Peaceful hikes.
Greenbrier State Forest
I can’t with this place. They take all my money. The sandwiches are so good and fresh. They offer gluten free buns and cookies. How cute is this place?
The Lunch Box
This place is amazing. Inside is like a Scholastic Book Fair trinket shop. Doodads and fun things. Oh, and they are a bakery. And a soap company. There is a rotating cake display case that is glittery. They have all the viral trends here in WV....
The Cake Box
Is it odd that I know about the show but have never watched it? The store is a lovely, curated selection of clothes and home decor.
Barnwood Living
We have taken field trips here. The staff is amazing. In addition to their work, they sponsor events like a Solstice Walk in the winter. If you are lucky, you can help harvest fish eggs.
White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery
I stopped in before Christmas. Gorgeous WV pottery, woodwork. Plants….so many beautiful plants.
Appalachian Handmade
A fun evening out. Check out and play a game while snacking on sandwiches and ice cream.
Across the Board Game Cafe
I know these sweet farmers, back when they were in middle school. They have successfully started a market for their local beef. They sell in shop. If you eat at any local restaurant, if your beef is good, it came from them.
