We love books in my house. These are some of my kid's favorite holiday books that I've compiled over the years!
This one is a favorite every year in my house. The rhyming keeps me engaged as the reader and the story itself is fun/not too scary for the little ones.
Room on the Broom
Good old Arthur is always a classic. The message of this one is all about the importance of bravery and not judging someone before you know them.
Arthur's Halloween: An Arthur Adventure
This plot provides a bit of a mystery for kids, which is a nice change of pace compared to other Halloween books. The costume party the characters attend is cute, as well.
Franklin's Halloween
The Halloween version of “Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night?” (one of my son's favorites).
Where Do Diggers Trick-or-Treat? Halloween Book
As with other Berenstain Bear books, this one provides a nice life lesson to kids. In this case, it's all about being a good friend/neighbor.
The Berenstain Bears Trick or Treat Book
The story of an old couple looking for their missing pumpkin on Halloween. The illustrations are so wonderful. The plot itself is not scary, so it is enjoyable for sensitive kids.
The Vanishing Pumpkin
This festive book is a great segue to teaching the cycle of life/connecting to nature.
Pumpkin Jack
A classic for those looking for a festive book without much emphasis on Halloween itself. This is about a gardener who has to figure out what to do when she has TOO MANY pumpkins!
Too Many Pumpkins
A classic Peanuts story to get your kids excited for Thanksgiving. Great to pair with the movie!
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (Peanuts)
Both of my kids love Little Critter! This one has a little humor, as well.
Little Critter: Just a Special Thanksgiving + 20 Stickers
A lift-the-flap book that introduces the history of Thanksgiving with a beloved character, Pete the Cat! This one is a sure hit with kids ages 3 and up.
Pete the Cat: The First Thanksgiving Lift-Flap
The “How to Catch a…” series is always a hit with my kids. This one about catching a turkey will certainly get them giggling.
How to Catch a Turkey
Another lift-a-flap book that will be a toddler favorite. This one isn't specific to any holiday, just autumn themed.
Autumn In The Forest Deluxe Lift-a-Flap Book
The sweetest little story about a sleigh who has to believe in herself despite what others think of her.
Little Red Sleigh: Heartwarming Xmas Book
It's not a holiday book list without this one. My kids are obsessed with the Grinch, and this classic is fun for the reader and the kids. You can't beat a Dr. Seuss rhyme!
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Full Color
There are a ton of versions of this classic story, but the illustrations in this version are so exquisite and whimsical that I have to share it.
Mr. Boddington's Studio: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas
A book about holiday traditions, and another with exquisite illustrations.
Pick a Pine Tree (Pick A Celebration)
A cozy and sweet tale for bedtime reading.
Bear Stays Up for Christmas (The Bear Books)
Great for toddlers… and wait for (light-up) the surprise at the end! You can't go wrong with any of the Little Blue Truck books.
Little Blue Truck's Christmas Holiday Book
Short and sweet board book for toddlers.
Moo, Baa, Fa La La La La!
Great for beginner readers - and another Little Critter book.

A sweet little story about a mouse preparing for Christmas.
Santa Mouse Bakes Christmas Cookies
A classic Christmas story about some rambunctious reindeer!

This one always gets me into the Christmas spirit. All about simple holiday traditions, this is a good one to read as a family.

Help your kids remember the true meaning of Christmas with this Berenstain Bears book.
Berenstain Bears and the Joy of Giving
This one is so silly - kids love it!
Sneezy the Snowman
GREAT for car rides or to keep older kids busy when you need a minute.
