These are my top picks. Some are epic, some are weird, and all of them made me feel something. If you love giant monsters, cool fight scenes, and strange science fiction, this list is for you. Bonus points if you watch it in original Japanese (where ...
The entire list if you want to start at the beginning and go through them in order.
Every Godzilla Movie (In Order)
The original, the blueprint, the Big G’s moody debut. Stark, haunting, and full of post-war feels. Totally worth a watch if you love vintage film vibes.
Godzilla 1954 : Toho : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming
Wildly different, deeply political, and genuinely freaky. Godzilla as an evolving biotech horror? Yes. Weird, smart, and bold.
Shin Godzilla Dvd
This one wrecked me. It's the one where Godzilla’s literally melting down—epic, tragic, and unforgettable.
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)
Chaotic, campy, delightfully over-the-top. It’s like a kaiju version of Smash Bros. with Matrix moves and 2000s flair.
Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)
Iconic robo-Godzilla showdown! Classic ‘70s sci-fi cheese but with real heart and rad fight sequences.
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974)
Big budget spectacle. Mothra is GORGEOUS. Godzilla is majestic. Great for family movie night with popcorn and dinosaur PJs.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Underrated gem! Plant-kaiju + psychic girls = a surprisingly emotional sci-fi blend. A little weird, but beautiful.
Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989)
Time travel + aliens + a three-headed dragon. A little confusing but still awesome. Ghidorah’s new design here is sick.
Nuclear Godzilla vs King Ghidorah | Godzilla: King of the Monsters [4k, HDR]
This one is weird. Like REALLY weird. Hedorah is a pollution monster and it’s gross in a good way. Also there’s a random cartoon segment?
Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971)
Godzilla's millennial glow-up. Purple spikes. It’s sleek, fun, and surprisingly good for newcomers. Great middle ground between campy and serious.
Godzilla 2000 (1999)
Not as good as the first one but still cool. Anguirus shows up, and their fight is kind of clumsy but I like it because it feels real.
Godzilla Raids Again (1955)
Feels like a fairy tale. Mothra is so pretty and the music is calming. Battra is cool too—kind of like Mothra’s angry sibling (not saying that I have one, but also not not saying it.)
Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964)
Jet Jaguar is the real star here. He’s a robot that punches kaiju in the face. It’s super cheesy but I like it because it makes me smile.
Godzilla Vs. Megalon - DVD
Has Mechagodzilla again, plus Mothra. Really good fight scenes and the music is amazing. It feels like a perfect mix of old-school and new-school.
Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003)
Gigan has buzzsaws for hands. Enough said. Also, the final fight is kind of intense—it gets a little bloody for a Godzilla movie.
Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972)
This one is slow, but it builds up really well. The HALO jump scene is beautiful. Godzilla feels HUGE and powerful here. Also, the roar gave me chills.
Godzilla (2014)
This one’s animated and kind of philosophical. It’s about humans trying to reclaim Earth from Godzilla after 20,000 years. Makes you think, but also has cool mechs. Biggest Godzilla ever.
Watch GODZILLA Planet of the Monsters
Pure monster fight fun. Not a lot of thinking required. Just sit back, eat snacks, and watch them wreck a city together.
