Texas weather is unpredictable. Even in October it was HOT outside. With a toddler outdoor activities can be limited in the Texas heat, but we made the best of the trip and so glad we did!

I absolutely loved exploring downtown Gruene. Easily walked, even with a stroller, and a ton of shops to explore.

A lot of change from what I remember as a kid, but so a great way to spend an afternoon. With a ton of different shops and boutiques, there’s bound to be something for everyone!
The Wimberley Square in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country
While not reflected in the photos, on site are lovely gardens for some outdoor time. Plenty of open space that for your little to explore and burn off some excess energy. Always a plus!

Both Gruene and Wimberley are tourist destinations. Expect waits during peak seasons, but the waits are definitely worth it! 🤤
Drool worthy meal! 🤤 I splurged and got the chicken fried steak and it was worth every calorie! Beautiful views from the outdoor dining and fabulous ambiance. A bit of a wait but totally worth it!
Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar
Fantastic lunch spot to hit up when in Wimberley. The wait can be crazy long, but well worth it. Shrimp tacos are so delicious and their selection of adult beverages is top notch. Try to sit outside or near a window to appreciate the gorgeous view!

We stopped by this place expecting actual olives, but alas it is filled to the brim with every type of olive oil imaginable. We met the owner and he was so helpful in assisting us find the perfect oil to take home.
