A platformer inspired by the Wario Land franchise encouraging speed. You go through the stage, then go back to the beginning to complete it a la Wario Land 4.
Pizza Tower
An excellent looking (and feeling) bullet hell inspired by 1930s rubberhose cartoons. You can play (and suffer) with a friend.
Cuphead
Another excellent Mario RPG with fun partners, good gameplay, and an excellent story. The game is great on both consoles/versions – the GameCube original and the Switch remake – but the remake is highly recommended as it removes a lot of backtracking...
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
A crossover platform fighting game with a huge – and I mean HUGE – competitive fanbase, and it's for good reason. The controls are nice, and the cast is great, with plenty of side modes to boot! You can even play it on PC with online capabilities in modern day through… methods… (*ahem* Slippi)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
A new entry in the mainline Mario series and it's better than ever! With the new Wonder Flower changing things up, a slew of new enemies for the bestiary, the ability to race friends, badges, and more, this game is a treat for everyone!
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
One of the best – and most classic games in a classic party game series. Fun boards, minigames, and items make for a great time, every time! Even the single-player Story Mode is fun!
Mario Party 3
One of the greatest Mario Kart games yet! It has a new mechanic… two drivers! One carries items, the other drives. You have to manage both and switch between the two.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Another great Mario Party two new mechanics: Bowser Time and Mic Minigames! You can use the microphone in certain minigames, and every few turns, Bowser appears! There's a meter that appears at the start of every turn so you'll always know how close ...
Mario Party 7
This is the definition of a sleeper hit. A surprisingly good baseball game with (now defunct) online capabilities. You can still play online today through… methods.
Backyard Baseball 2001
This one might not hit as hard as 3, 6, and 7. but it's still a great time if you haven't played. The gimmick this time is costumes w/ themed boards! They all look cute and most of the boards are fun! We don't talk about Space Land, though.
Mario Party 2

Super Mario Strikers
An amazing golf game with unique courses, themes, and characters! It has plenty of modes, and can be played multiplayer!
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour

Another great Mario Party with a new mechanic: a day/night cycle. Every few turns time time will change from day to night, and things such as star prices and board events get changed depending on time.

A puzzle platformer on Game Boy retelling the story of the iconic arcade game Donkey Kong. It predates – and is very similar too – Mario vs. Donkey Kong. With over 90 stages and plenty of unique themes, I guarantee a good time.
Donkey Kong '94

An RPG with some good combat full of laughs and fun all the way through. It's a fairly short game, but a great one – remake or original – nonetheless.
Super Mario RPG
A great series of 2D platformers that have stood the test of time (besides Lost Levels). Even on original console, all 5 (really 4) of these games are still great.
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World
A platformer with metroidvania-styled levels very different from the Mario series. If you want to 100% the game, a guide is recommended.
Wario Land
Another great platformer, this time in the Donkey Kong series! The mechanics vary a bit from Mario, including a new roll attack! Whilst being notoriously difficult it's still an excellent time!
Donkey Kong Country
A sleeper hit of mine. It's one of those turn-the-brain-off-and-just-play games. It's a great way to relax. You can even play with a friend!
Balloon Fight
A great boxing game with tight controls! You play as Little Mac – a 17-year-old from the Bronx – and defeat big opponents such as Bald Bull & Soda Popinski and push through the odds as the underdog to face the ultimate champion… the Kid Dynamite ...
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
Wii Games
These aren't quite old enough for me to consider them retro (especially since the last game released in 2020), but these aren't young enough to really be considered modern either. Unfortunately I don't have many of these.
An excellent installment in the Mario Kart series and is one of, if not the best one in the series. The tracks are fun, and the controls are great with and without motion controls.
Mario Kart Wii
You play as this this ball guy destroying blocks, enemies and bosses by flinging the Wiimote. You can even play with a friend!

Namco Museum Remix
This… is THE video game. Besides the original Mario this is one of – if not the most – popular games of all time & definitely the most popular Nintendo game. You heard of it lots, you know it well and if you haven't played I guarantee you'll love... playing with a friend – or multiple – this game is a great time!
