This is a comprehensive list of all the things that saved me & my family during our experience with c. diff. We spent a ridiculously long time researching the best foods (what would starve the bacteria instead of feed it), the best probiotics (sp...

Safe Foods
Safe and easy-to-make foods that won't aggravate a traumatized digestive system.
The true MVP of our experience. Having access to fast, easy rice when you feel like crap is essential.
Minute Jasmine Rice Cups, 8.8 oz, Pack of 8
If energy allows, home-cooked rice is really the best.
Mahatma Jasmine Rice, 2lb Bag, Fragrant
Essential!! Being able to add butter to foods (especially rice & mashed potatoes) without worrying about feeding the bacteria was a relief. Bonus: it tastes great.
Earth Balance Soy Free Buttery Spread, 15 oz
These chicken nuggets were one of the few frozen chicken options that the whole family could tolerate. Since the breading is mostly ground up vegetables, it sits very easy on the tummy and digests well. HIGHLY recommended for the days when you have n...
PERDUE® CHICKEN PLUS®
Recovery
Essentials for the recovery period, both during and after antibiotic treatment.
The Peggy Lewis Foundation is such an invaluable resource for c. diff experiences and knowledge. I highly recommend reviewing their expertise for your journey to recovery.
Peggy Lillis Foundation - Choosing the best probiotic for C. diff.
This is hands down THE best probiotic for a kiddo with c diff. Our daughter took this twice per day, on doctor's recommendation, and we saw an immediate & major improvement.
Florastor Kids Probiotic Supplement, 20 Sticks
This one saved the adults in our household!! A large portion of the abdominal pain disappeared with the first dose. It's really amazing honestly.
Florastor Probiotics for Digestive Health
This is a good alternative to the basic adult probiotic, with added chicory root to support intestinal health directly (not just gut).
Florastor Pro+Prebiotic Supplement (30 Caps)
This combo of 3 Lactobacillus strains is excellent for repairing good gut bacteria after initial antibiotic treatment is finished. (Note: this is mainly for adults, not kids)
Bio K+ Vegan Probiotic Bowel Support 20 Caps
Alternative option for the kiddos who can't handle probiotic pills. My daughter really loved the taste of these and was excited to drink one every day. :)
Stonyfield Organic Strawberry Banana Yogurt
Cleaning
Cleaning is extremely important to prevent recurrence, but bleach is the only thing that can kill active spores. Caregivers and parents: be cautious and vigilant!
MVP of cleaning. We ended up ordering like 5 bottles of this stuff. Since bleach is the ONLY thing that can effectively kill c. diff, we used this constantly on all surfaces - especially toilets.
Clorox Healthcare Bleach Germicidal Wipes
This spray works best for situations that the germicide wipes can't handle (example: inside the toilet bowl)
Clorox Healthcare Bleach Cleaner Spray, 22oz
These are a bit pricey at $3/mask, but they really saved us during repeated cleaning efforts. It sits comfortably on your face and keeps out the majority of the bleach smell.
3M Aura N95 Respirator 9205+, 20 Count
Mandatory disposable gloves for cleaning after toilet use. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT try to clean c. diff exposure areas without gloves on!!
