I have been making polymer clay magnets for a while now and the sculpey brand from Spotlight has been by far the easiest to work with with the best finish
Polymer Clay | Sculpting & Modelling Clay
One thing I found when mixing polymer clay to create colours is, it takes a bit of effort, but not with this machine
Mont Marte Polymer Clay Press & Roller
I shave these chalk pastels to make custom colours on my clay magnets for example on a pizza crust, and so much more (I also shave these colours into my liquid polymer clay to create a liquid look for example to make icing on a cake)
Amazon.com.au: Chalk Pastels
From cutting corners to creating textures before baking your clay magnets
Clay Sculpting Tools & Accessories
I couldn’t find bulk mini magnets in any local shops so now I purchase these
Amazon.com.au: Craft Magnets
I use this to create the appearance of liquid on my clay magnets for example honey coming from a beehive or icing on a cake (this is also where I use the shaved pastel chalk to make custom colour)
Sculpey Liquid Bakeable Clay Translucent
Once your clay magnets are completely cooled down after baking, add this to give them a shiny top coat (they look completely different after this step)
Sculpey Gloss Glaze Clear
Perfect for making matching sets like earrings, charms, or pendants
