Sturdy 5-mil laminating pouches so visual schedule cards hold up to daily Velcro pulls without bending.
I use these sticky-back dots to make my picture cards moveable, so a finished card can be pulled off the strip and parked in a done column. They are the classic little circles teachers and parents use for exactly this.

I keep a small ring of going-places cards on one of these 1-inch metal binder rings in the car bag. They are cheap, sturdy and endlessly useful for flashcard-style routines.

I made these printables for our own house first, then cleaned them up for other families. They are everyday steps you can mix and match for mornings, afternoons and evenings.
Visual Daily Routine Cards (our printable)
Everything in our printable routine cards in one download, for families who want to get started with visual routines at home. I made them for our own house first.
Autism Family Starter Bundle (ours)
This is exactly how we set up picture cards at home: short routines, the same order most days, and a physical action for done. It is not perfect and it changes, but it works more days than it doesn't.
