Dunnegan Memorial Park
This is such a nice quiet park. They have a great walking trail, river access and a playground and sports fields. It’s rarely busy, so I love to lay on the grass in the shade and read here
Outlet Park, Pomme De Terre Lake - Recreation.gov
This is one of the coolest botanical gardens I have been to. It’s great to walk around and check out, and spend the rest of the afternoon reading on one of the benches!
Springfield Botanical Gardens
I love this spot! It’s a great place to crack open a book or watch the sunset
Peninsula Lookout Scenic Spot in Branson, MO
So many trails! A few of them have some great reading spots with beautiful views. I also love the information center

The weather in Missouri can be really finicky (cue the random hail storms) so these have been some of my favorite places to crack open a book while inside.
Right downtown and has great food and coffee! I love to come here for the vibes and a nice central place to read. I always sneak away to the back corner!
The European
Ok, this one can be a liiiiitle hard to get through a book because its always pretty lively, but they have great drinks and I will sit and read while waiting for my order!
The 1906 Wine Bar & Pub
Definitely a little on the nose, but where’s a better place to read than in the library! One of my favorites in the area
Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library
I am a sucker for Barnes & Noble. There’s something very nostalgic about reading here, I almost always end up buying a few books too
