When you only have the day for an adventure
Day-trip worthy spots that prove you don’t need an overnight bag to break a sweat or find an adventure.
Great place to catch a game, and enjoy a great bite to eat. Check out their theme nights!
Texas Rangers Baseball @ Globe Life Field
Awesome place to catch a concert! Book your parking in the Montgomery Lot for easy come and go!
Dickies Arena
One of my all-time favorite places as a kid, even more fun as a parent! They have great membership options now, with food!!
Six Flags Over Texas
Such a neat art exhibit, really glad we went! Just make sure you aren't in a huge vehicle if you plan to park in the Tower Garage.
Sweet Tooth Hotel
See exotic animals, swim with the otters! Such a fun experience! You can camp out here as well!
Blue Hills Ranch
We've seen multiple shows here, and always have a great time! If you can start at the Foundation Room for dinner, you absolutely should!
House of Blues Dallas
Immerse yourself in your own imagination! Take advantage of all the ring lit photo ops inside, and try to find the secret room! So much fun!
Rainbow Vomit
Get lost in the colors and lights, but don't forget, you're there to solve a mystery! Such a fun place to explore. Highly recommend going during the week while the kids are at school!
Meow Wolf Grapevine
This place will break your brain! So much fun to explore, I highly recommend checking it out!
Museum of Illusions
Another great local venue that always has great shows, and with Tim Love at the helm in the kitchen--your taste buds will rejoice!
Tannahill's Tavern & Music Hall
When you've got a few more days for an adventure
Adventures worth the overnight bag—getaways close enough to drive, but far enough to feel like a reset.
Kids LOVED their time at camp, and they even have family weekends so the parents can join in the fun!!
Camp Champions
Quiet little village with an amazing par 3 golf course, tucked away in Ruidoso, New Mexico. My favorite summertime mountain destination!
Innsbrook Village Country Club & Resort
So cold and refreshing on a hot, summer day! If you're ever out west, I highly recommend the detour.
Balmorhea State Park
Visit the Prada storefront, shop the quaint square, and stay for the Marfa lights--they'll have you saying, "Wait, what IS that?!"
The Mystery that is Marfa
Quick and easy drive from the metroplex, kids of beautiful scenery, great food and fun times on the Colorado River!
Marble Falls, Texas
Another great par 3 golf course, nestled in the heart of Branson, Missouri. Beautiful landscapes, great weather. Must visit!
