1. Base
Favorite Primer and Foundation for a matte base.
I will never use another primer again! This primer locks makeup in place and helps even out my skin so everything goes on nice and smooth. Tip: Be sure to pat it into your skin with a sponge or your fingers instead of wiping it with a brush.
Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer
The coverage on this foundation is so smooth and matte, which makes a perfect canvas! It lasts a full 12 hour convention day without separating or transferring. I also love that tarte’s line has actual cool-toned foundation for pale folks!
Tarte Amazonian Clay 16-hour Full Coverage Foundation
Love using these to add a little color back into my lips when doing masculine makeup.
Burt’s Bees Lip Tints
I actually use this for drawing the base of scars with special effects makeup.
NYX - Line Loud Vegan Longwear Lip Liner
2. Contour
Best Contour and Highlighter for pale cool toned skin.
The creaseless concealer truly holds up to anything and covers my dark circles with no problem. I love using it for contouring my face in cosplay. I’m 32 and starting to get fine lines around my eyes, but this concealer never settles into them. It al...
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Full Coverage Concealer
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a cool toned contour stick for super pale skin? This stuff is incredible, you can build it up for different levels of intensity and blend it with a sponge or brush.
TOASTED Sculpt Stick Cream Contour - MILK MAKEUP
This is technically an eyeshadow but I like to dab it at the corners of my eyes, on the bridge and tip of my nose, in my Cupid’s bow, and in my cheekbones as a highlighter. It catches the light and adds dimension to my makeup.
ColourPop Glaze Multichrome Liquid - Highlighter
3. Eyebrows
Inexpensive pencils for Eyebrows drawing on Facial Hair.
I have this tint pen in at least four different colors for all my cosplays! I have pretty shaky hands and this pen gives me a lot of control and lets me make really fine brush strokes. I also use it to fill in facial hair for specific cosplays.
NYC - Lift & Snatch! Brow Tint Pen
This pencil lets me draw super fine lines and it doesn’t crumble when I apply pressure.
NYX Micro Brow Eyebrow Pencil
4. Eyes
Colorful Eyeshadow and Eyeliner for your eyes and special effects.
The glitter options in this palette are iridescent and absolutely ethereal. The color is buildable so I have a lot of control over the final look. I also like to use the dark purple as a contour for special effects makeup.
ColourPop All Amethyst | Purple Eyeshadow Palette
The tip on this eyeliner lets you draw really intricate details. I have hooded eyes and it doesn’t transfer at all, even when I get sweaty.
NYX Epic Ink Waterproof Liquid Liner
This liquid eyeliner goes on so smooth, dries quick, and comes in a ton of fun vibrant colors!
NYX Epic Wear Matte Waterproof Eyeliner
I always use the white pencil for lining my waterline because it doesn’t budge and get in my eyes, even if they get watery!
NYX Vivid Rich Mechanical Pencil
5. Setting Powders
Translucent Loose and Pressed powders I carry everywhere.
This is my holy grail powder. It sets matte, stays put for 12+ hours of intense wear in cosplay at a convention. And best of all—no flashback in photos! I carry this in my bag at every convention.
Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder
This powder is essential for setting my under eye makeup and oily t-zone. It lasts through a long, sweaty, squinty day at a convention.
Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder

This barrier spray keeps my cosplay makeup looking airbrushed through pretty much anything. Sweaty convention days, outdoor photoshoots, and evening raves.

I use this setting spray to melt my base layers together for an airbrushed finish. It also helps control any oily zones, and hydrates my skin.
