Outerwear
You'll be surprised how much you wear this. Coats are worth the investment, especially one with a pop of color that can elevate any outfit. I'm telling you, green, especially olive green goes with everything!
ASOS DESIGN Tall longline car coat in olive
A bit warmer with the inside sherpa lining, however not all jackets have it, some only on the collar. This is great for more causal outfits or outdoor fall activities like hiking, visiting a pumpkin patch, or sipping cider under the fall leaves.
Original Corduroy Sherpa Trucker Jacket - Brown
Try for real leather if you can. Fake leather is great for a budget but will eventually tear, usually on the shoulders if you wear it often. If you think it's too edgy, it's not - unless it has spikes!
Motorcycle Jackets
You'd be surprised how often I steal these from my Mom's closet.
I typically go for this camel color for trench coats. Tendency to upgrade any outfit to a bit fancier than underneath.
Women's Trench Coats | Black, Leather & Cropped
I prefer the blazer jacket look for suede but each to their own. The rust colors go with everything, especially jeans and blues!
Womens Suede Jackets
A classic for a reason, especially for the structure it brings without being skintight. I like rain resistant bomber jackets but recently developed an interest in more textures versions to spruce up an outfit with plain old jeans!
Women's Bomber Jackets | ZARA United States
Specifically plaid coats* I try to find coats made with wool but it’s a tough market out there especially if you’re working with a budget. I find coats from Zara aren’t too expensive for the type of item and tend to last awhile.
Women's Long Coats | ZARA United States
Sweaters
I've had my eye on these cashmere sweaters for a bit. Definitely one of the more affordable options while still maintaining quality. Typically I go for brown, red, or blues for this type of sweater.
Women's Cashmere Sweaters and Clothing
A bit of a splurge but the materials ensure it will last through multiple generations. This brand offers many styles, some that fit more fall than just Halloween!
Spooky Ghost Sweater
Chris Evans anyone? Or Harry from ‘When Harry Met Sally’. Be sure to find one that is flexible and doesn't feel like it's covered in glue when it comes out of the box.
Super soft but not super heavy. Great for transition days of hot to cool or for layering under a warm coat.
J Crew Soft Yarn Sweater
Cozy, comfortable, dress up with leather boots or down with slippers while cooking during the holidays!
SoSoft Mini Sweater Dress | Old Navy
Layering
Great for layering under a big coat or leather jacket. I prefer these light weight long sleeves with an accentuated cut/neck line to add shaping or flattery.
Zali V Cross Over Long Sleeve
I recently bought this and love, love, love it! Super soft, form fitting. Perfect for layering or pairing with a patterned skirt/pants.
Out From Under Diana Layering Lace-Trim Henley Top
Take my money now. These types of cardigans end up being my most worn items every fall and winter. Great for layering, tying an outfit together and can be repurposed to wear with dresses during summer when it's not quite warm enough. I prefer fuzzy t...
Kimchi Blue Rachel Cardigan
Belts are the simplest way to add structure to an outfit that is overwhelmed with big sweaters, long coats, or multiple layers.
Women's Belts - Old Navy - Gap
Can be worn open as a layering piece or as a shirt buttoned only to the waist, paired with a belt and jeans! Many possibilities!
Jenisso Womens V-Neck Button Maxi Cardigan
A neutral color for fall. A great way to add color when your outfit consists of creams, black coats, or brown monochrome.
Navy Blue Scarf
Peaks out just a bit from the top of your boots! So so so cute!
Lace Knee High Socks For Women
Essential for colder climates! A big scarf will swallow your outfit if you let it wear you rather than you own it. Can wear around your head and neck as well. Check out the link for an example!
Plaid Woven Oversized Scarf
Such a staple I forgot to add it !
Women's Tights
Layering staple. I prefer slightly light weight just because it can get quite hot with a high collar, especially if you’re layering!
CLOUD TURTLENECK
Boots
I swear by ‘cognac’ brown boots, especially for knee high. I prefer a lower heel for comfortability but dealer's choice! Perfect for wearing dresses in the fall with a jacket or adding flare to skinny jeans and a sweater.
Tall Boots
I dream of her. A bit edgy for me but I could rock these with more jewel toned shirts/skirts or with a mini skirt and sweater.
Shop Buckle Boots
Hipster staple of the mid-2010's but it's a classic for a reason. Great for fall activities, especially in the outdoors. Or for snuggling up in a coffee shop on a cold day.
Women's Chelsea Boots - Leather & Suede ...
Great for wet climates in the fall/winter. Not as edgy as you think and if you get recycled leather, you do not have to break them in! Last forever and super comfortable!
Women's Boots in Black
Do I own these? No but do I dream of the day I do? Yes. These boots are a bit of splurge but last for a decade, extremely comfortable, and hold their height for years to come. I really like Fyre’s version of banana leather over other brands
Women's Banana Campus 14L Boots
A shoe for summer and fall. Great for fall days where there’s a bit of mud or dust and you don’t want to risk a scratch on your leather boots!
Shop Women's Cowboy & Western Boots
Skirts
Sue me, I love a good plaid skirt. A-line is great for fall because you can tuck in sweaters or layering pieces into the waist and give your figure definition without a belt. Can be worn with ankle boots or knee-high. Brown is a great neutral color f...
The Brown Elastic Waist Plaid A-Line Midi Skirt
Long are the days where I brave a mini leather skirt. For longevity and flexibility I prefer a midi length with a bit of flare, especially if the leather is fake. Otherwise it can look like a glorified trash bag on your waist!
Medium Length Leather Skirt
Finding the right boots to go with it is always the hard part. Sometimes I venture to wear these with Mary Janes and flats.
Women's Suede Skirt
Great for warmer days in the fall. Can be paired with tights or leggings and a long coat for chillier days.
Pleated Skort
A bit of a splurge for one item but I love the colors and length for fall. Can be dressed down with cowboy boots and a jacket or dressed up with heels and a coat for date night!
RUCHED PRINTED SLIP MIDI DRESS
Pants
I own a pair of these in solid blue original wash and black. Great for ankle boots primarily or with sneakers. Adds curvature to your thighs while remaining quite slimming.
Bootcut Jeans
Bought these last year specifically for the fall in the rust color! Absolutely love pairing with a variety of styles. Adds elevation to a casual black sweater and coat outfit!
Women's Corduroy Pants
Does not need to be wide leg but recommend pairing with a belt. Can be dressed up with a textured top (like lace) or the star of an outfit! Great for the office too.
