I'm an avid reader. My best year was reading 130 books, which will never happen again! From mysteries, police procedural to get the serial killer bad guy, classics, self-improvement, and sometimes some romance, check out my list and enjoy getting swe...
I'm not usually a person who enjoys magical realism, but this book hit home. A must read for everyone! If you have recently lost someone, prepare yourself with a tissue or two. It answers the "what if...?" and "I wish..."
Three More Months: A Novel by Sarah Echavarre, Paperback
This is a great resource to turn to as a newer teacher as well as when the winter doldrums hit and creativity flies out the window. Although truthfully there's nothing earth-shattering in the ideas, seeing it in print and having research to back thes...
Keeping the Wonder
I first read this fantasy/horror book the summer between 5th and 6th grade, and it still haunts me to this day. The premise is that a high school girl was pushed to her death at a party, and she (as a ghost) investigates why it happened. This is one ...
Remember Me (1)
The book that started it all. I picked up this book to be able to discuss it with my mom when she was sick and I was her caregiver. Out of the series, this one is the best (although I could do without THAT Black Jack scene).
Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon
I first read this book as a young adult, and while it's marketed as romance, I would argue that it's more about coming of age, history, and time travel. After witnessing a horrible trauma, the female protagonist is thrown into survival mode and learn...
Son of the Morning (Pocket Books Romance)
Dean Steele was first introduced in another series by AJ Rivers, and he finally got his own series. It helps to have read the other series, although it's not mandatory. This isn't the best of Dean's story, but it's helpful to start at the beginning.
The Woman in the Woods (Dean Steele Mystery)
This starts Dean's real journey, and this book is a must, especially if you're going to continue the series.
The Last Survivors (Dean Steele Mystery 2)
I think part of the reason I continue with this series is to read the Xavier zingers. He's definitely the quirky sidekick, and watching AJ Rivers evolve his story in the background is fascinating.
No Escape (Dean Steele Mystery Thriller Book 3)
This book is a bit messed up, but in a good way. One of the things I like about Rivers' writing is the respectful tone even in the face of horror.
