Here’s my favorite list of parks, outdoor venues, craft and food fairs, playgrounds, dog parks, whatever you can enjoy outside in Eugene.
One of the best parks to ride bikes, go fishing, play disc golf, feed ducks and geese, see music events at nearby Cuthbert Ampitheatre and attend cultural and art festivals in the main lawn.
Alton Baker Park
Super fun place to hang out on a Saturday with family, friends or alone. Great food, music and all kinds of local craft vendors.

Great dog park on the west side of Eugene. Has a large enclosure for small dogs and two large areas for bigger dogs. Water available for pups but not much shade when it’s hot.
Candlelight park
The famous University of Oregon Ducks live here in Eugene. Home games are lots of fun and super crowded, always. Other events are held at the stadium in summer. Sometimes you get to meet the players and get autographs too!
Football - University of Oregon Athletics
The most amazing farmers market around is here in Eugene! Wonderful organic and low priced fresh fruit and vegetables, seasonal options almost year-round.

When my kids were young, we had a membership to this science center and always had a great time. The exhibits rotate every few months so there’s something new to enjoy and explore. Fun for all ages and adults too.

Nearby hikes in Eugene
Wonderful forested hike right outside the city. Rocky outcropping on top opens up to 360 degree view. Lots of locals hike this weekly for exercise. Great place to watch the sunset and have a picnic. Family and dog friendly hike
Facilities • Spencer Butte Park - Eugene, Oregon
This is a wonderful park to hike to the top and get a view of downtown Eugene. There’s also a playground at the base of the park right next to the river and a bike path.
Skinner Butte Park
Great place for a challenging hike and overlook of the city. Lots of places to explore in the forest at the base. Sometimes there’s festivals and events held here as well as the arboretum.
