i literally fall for any academic book tbh

Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
This book gives raw and real insight on what it is like to fall in love as a teenager, and to take responsiblity for having a kid while still being a kid. It has very relatable character dynamics and really broadened my perspective while reading.
With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo
This book is another coming of age story but is told in a nearly poetic way. Though the main character makes mistakes while struggling to find identity, it's a genuine feel good book for young Black girls.
