Casual Food & Restaurants

A list of my frequently visited restaurants in the Miami area, mostly West Miami. The majority of these are local, hole-in-the-walls, Latin food places that are family friendly.

Their cheese and pepperoni slices are HUGE, and the price can’t be beat! They also offer delicious, juicy chicken wings and subs.
Casola's

A Florida staple, delicious food that is a mix of seafood (their specialty) and American “hand food”. If I could only recommend one think, that would be their Rib Rolls, an eggroll that filled with saucy, pulled bbq rib meat and melted cheddar cheese...
Flanigan's Seafood Bar and Grill

Super casual Italian spot in Miami that is always packed with families, especially on weeknights after kid's sports games. Great food, my favorite dishes are their lasagna, the baked ziti and chicken parmesan.
The Big Cheese of Miami

This is my favorite breakfast and brunch spot in Miami because of their famous and delicious pancakes (the Cinnamon Roll one is incredible!). They also offer a good selection of savory dishes, and it is located in Coconut Grove which is an awesome ne...

Fun Places To Take The Kids

These are the spots I love to take my kid to for a fun filled day. From outdoor gardens, to kids museums and indoor parks, there is something for every kid!

Such a fun indoor playground in Miami with engaging activities for kids of all ages. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the place is always clean, and it is conveniently located inside a food hall where parents can grab food & drinks too...

Besides the beautiful garden, there is a huge outdoor park that combines art and nature through whimsical larger-than-life animal designs, and the best part is that it is ADA-Accessible. There is also a mini zoo that kids love!
Pinecrest Botanical Garden

One of the best spots to take the kids to. I love all the real-life stands like supermarket, bank, hospital where they can play pretent and have the best time ever

Romantic Date Spots

Think chic, cozy, dimly lit restaurants and bars that turn an ordinary, routine night into a romantic, unforgettable date night

One of my favorite date night spots on the water. Not only is the vibe cozy and fun at the same time, the food is incredibly amazing and the prices are great too for the quality!
Tanuki River Landing

Love this waterfront restaurant for a daytime date. The food is delicious although a but pricey, but it's compensated by the views!
Amara at Paraiso

I love this spot for a casual, fun date, even as a first date spot! Their Neapolitan pizza pies are perfection, and their drink selection is amazing (try the Negroni!)

Wood-fired, wildly creative, and impossible to label. Walrus Rodeo (sister spot to Boia De) turns carrot tartare and green lasagna into the hottest food menu item in Miami. Equal parts pizza joint, pasta den, and part vegetarian.

This one is actually Michelin-starred. Boia De has incredible italian food inside a strip mall in cool-looking Buena Vista. Order the beef tartare and gorgonzola agnolotto, share every plate, and let the tiny, buzzy room do the rest. It's proof that ...

Miami Historical Places

If you'd like to learn about Miami's history, visit these hidden gems that will make you want to come back to Miami

One of the most beautiful places in all of Miami. It is a luxurious vintage mansion that features a huge, lush, and gorgeous garden. A place to take beautiful pictures and admire the architecture
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Tucked inside a 1927 Art Deco landmark in South Beach, this place is part museum, part time machine, with a gift shop and coffee bar worth lingering in long after you're done touring the galleries. The admission fee is $12 for adults, kids 6 and unde...
The Wolfsonian Museum -Florida International University

Artsy, vibrant, the place where you can experience the best of Cuban-American and Latino culture (the famous “Calle Ocho”). You can find restaurants, museums, local bars, shops and more, all with that Latin/Cuban flair.
Little Havana

Think of this as Miami's version of Rodeo Drive. Designer stores, beautiful buildings, art galleries, gorgeous greenery, it is a nice place to walk around and take pictures.

Best Family Friendly Beaches

Not all beach spots in Miami are kid-friendly (IFKYK). You won't have to worry about wild crowds on these beaches.

This beach offers beautiful, spacious, and clean beaches with calm, shallow waters, making it ideal for families. There is also plenty of parking and available restrooms!
Crandon Park

The beach is great because it's a sheltered tidal lagoon, so there's no waves and the water is up to 20 degrees warmer than the actual ocean beach. Bring a towel, some drinks and just sit there while the kids play in the water and with the sand!
Matheson Hammock Park & Marina

I love this option because it's in South Beach, so you have lots of entertaining for everyone, but specifically because this beach offers a playground for the kids, has restrooms and shelters nearby, and the environment here is very family-oriented.
