This is my full home audio setup! Everything that I’ve built to upgrade my vinyl and streaming listening and make music feel more intentional again. From the turntable to the small details that actually improve sound, if you’ve ever asked what I use ...
Not every record sounds great with clicks and pops. If snap, crackle, pop is your thing, avoid this at all costs. But if you enjoy listening to clean audio, do yourself a favor and cop one of these.
Boundless Audio Record Cleaning Brush
Beautiful centerpiece, solid build, and a real step up from the starter turntable phase. It’s such a simple build, yet gad the control you need for quality sound. If you’re ready to level up, this is a great move.
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO Audiophile Turntable
This is one of those quiet luxuries that you forget you have until someone asks your setup. When building out my system I saw several recommendations for this cable, and can’t argue against them. Learning lesson: if you’re upgrading your gear, focus ...
AudioQuest 0.75m Forest Optical Toslink Fiber-Optic Cable + Mini ...
Swapping to this was the biggest sound upgrade I’ve made without replacing my whole setup. Clearer, tighter, way more detail. If you want your turntable to actually show off, start here.
Sumiko Moonstone Phono Cartridge
Keeps vibrations to a minimum during playback, which is key when you live near train tracks and have a toddler running around the house. Also looks great on an all-black setup. Looks great, feels high quality. It’s all you need.
Pro-Ject Record Puck Heavy Weight Stabilizer
These speakers sound incredible. Seriously next level. Coming from a house full of Sonos speakers, the difference is unreal. I played The Smile’s Wall of Eyes first, and heard depth and detail I’d never noticed before. Plus, the black wood detail loo...
This was the cherry on top of my already perfect setup. It helps eliminate all of the humming and crackling that the needle upgrade doesn’t already cancel out. It’s super easy to use, and has become a mindless step when turning on my audio setup.
The price tag is hefty, but this enables you to upgrade to equipment outside of the SONOS ecosystem and turn analog systems wireless. Highly recommend.
Amp: The Wireless Streaming Speaker Amplifier
What you upgrade to when you want a fuller, cleaner sound without jumping into the $10k+ world. Solid detail, great presence, and they look good in the room.
Bowers & Wilkins 603 S3 Floor Speakers
Fits right into a wireless setup and adds the low end without overpowering other frequencies. Plenty of bass for an apartment or townhouse, especially if you share a wall like we do.
SONOS Sub Mini
Definitely not for everyone, it’s an investment. But if you’re deep enough into vinyl that noisy records drive you crazy, this thing is a game-changer. Turns used finds into keepers.
Pro-Ject VC-S3 Record Cleaning Machine
Tiny tool, huge impact. Makes sure your tracking force is set right so you’re not grinding your stylus (and records) into dust. One of those “buy it once, use it forever” things.
