If we sat down to lunch and you told me you wanted to get back into reading… I’d ask you a few questions and then recommend a book from this list. Because I love these books with my whole heart. I think about them often and love when people love them...
Witty and unassuming - the main character had me hooked. I couldn’t help but cheer her on and love her in the end.
Lessons in Chemistry - by Bonnie Garmus (Hardcover)
It was worth all the hype! Buckle up though, because you’ll live lots of life through this story. You’ll laugh, cry, get angry, and end up staring at the wall in the end… wondering what to read afterwards.
The Women - by Kristin Hannah (Hardcover)
Heart wrenching… another Kristin Hannah novel that will leave you speechless for a full 24 hours after reading.
Nightingale (Paperback) (Kristin Hannah)
Let me forewarn you - there will be a dog that is killed right up front… so just know that going in. If you can get past that then this book is truly wonderful.
Broken Country - by Clare Leslie Hall (Hardcover)
First of all… this pompous octopus has my whole heart. I went from not knowing anything about them to low key being obsessed with them after I read this. Such a strange premise for a book, and yet it worked so well!
Remarkably Bright Creatures - by Shelby Van Pelt (Paperback)
Yes. Yes. 1,000 times yes. This was my favorite read of 2024 and I just adore Evelyn and everything about this book!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Paperback)
Even if you couldn’t care less about space or space travel… I NEED you to read this. I plowed through it in one day, and I still think about this book so often that I’d scream it from the mountain tops as a 5 star rec.
Atmosphere - by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Hardcover)
This was my first TJR read, and it lead me down a worm hole of reading nearly her whole catalogue. Highly recommend!
Malibu Rising - by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Paperback)
A good little cowboy romance palette cleanser series to get you through between deeper reads. Just the right amount of smut and cheese. Also I’ve met the author and she’s the sweetest!
Done and Dusted - (Rebel Blue Ranch) by Lyla Sage (Paperback)
Just read the whole series.
Wild and Wrangled - (Rebel Blue Ranch) by Lyla Sage (Paperback)
Yee-haw! 🤠
Swift and Saddled - (Rebel Blue Ranch) by Lyla Sage (Paperback)
🤠🤠🤠
Lost and Lassoed - (Rebel Blue Ranch) by Lyla Sage (Paperback)
I both loved and hated Daisy at times… and the other members of the band(s) - but what a ride!
Daisy Jones & The Six By Taylor Jenkins Reid - By Taylor Jenkins Reid ( Paperback )
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE KRISTIN HANNAH BOOK. Just prepare to be sad. Like really sad.
The Four Winds - by Kristin Hannah (Paperback)
I need you to read this in October. It’s the perfect spooky season book. 👌
The Only One Left - by Riley Sager (Hardcover)
Adore. Splendid. Would recommend a thousand times over.
One True Loves - by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Paperback)
If you like Taylor Jenkins Reid and Kristin Hannah then I can’t recommend this enough. Similar story telling/vibes.
Go as a River - by Shelley Read (Hardcover)
This book was so strange… and yet so heart warming and lovely. Life lessons and deep - but with some fantasy thrown in.
The House in the Cerulean Sea - by Tj Klune (Paperback)
Another book I’d recommend for fall/spooky season! Loved!
Weyward - by Emilia Hart (Hardcover)
Alaska. Family troubles. Heart break. Heroism. I had a hard time figuring out what to read after this it was so good!
The Great Alone - by Kristin Hannah (Paperback)
Historical fiction meets feminism. Also, it’s loosely based on a true story. This woman takes no shit. I loved her dearly.
The Frozen River - by Ariel Lawhon (Paperback)
Cowboy romance meets hockey romance… spicey I loved it.
Powerless - (Chestnut Springs) by Elsie Silver (Paperback)
The book that introduced me to the term “buckle bunny” and sucked me straight into the genre of cowboy romance. I haven’t been able to stop since…
Flawless - (Chestnut Springs) by Elsie Silver (Paperback)
I fear once you’ve begun you won’t be able to stop…
Reckless - (Chestnut Springs) by Elsie Silver (Paperback)
I’m an Elsie Silver stan. This series did it to me…
Hopeless - (Chestnut Springs) by Elsie Silver (Paperback)
No notes.
Heartless - (Chestnut Springs) by Elsie Silver (Paperback)
This was quite a ride (no pun intended) I still think about the characters often - resilience, forgiveness, tragedy…
Night Road - by Kristin Hannah (Paperback)
I learned a ton about Elvis and his family… but it was also so fun to get a sort of “behind the curtain” look at the life of someone so big and well known.
From Here to the Great Unknown - by Lisa Marie Presley & Riley Keough (Hardcover)
When I tell you this book made me giggle out loud and smile multiple times I mean it. From not knowing much about this man and his career to being a huge fan of him and his outlook on life… all in the span of 300 something pages.
Being Henry - by Henry Winkler (Hardcover)
I need you to know that this isn’t for everybody… but if you can stomach it, it’s very informative and interesting.
Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers|Hardcover
Another book that made me love an obscure animal.
Water for Elephants: A Novel|Paperback
I need to re-read this at least once every 5 years. Ladies! Highly recommend.
