As a teenager this was where my friends and I spent our summers…it has been built up a lot and has a ton of activities for the family! Always recommend renting jet skis here!
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
The hike down is accessible to wide range of people and the view is SO worth it. Great place for a day trip out of Phoenix
Tonto Natural Bridge State Park
You will never believe how many different type of cacti there is. Pop over to Papoga park while you are there for great views.

This has a cult following. I lived in Brooklyn for 5 years and these bagels are the best I can find in the valley. Make sure you get extra bacon on that BEC!

This place stands of the test of time. I have been here probably 25 times and it never gets old. Look out for First Fridays...free admission and fun programming going on.
Phoenix Art Museum
It's a small community theatre…but they really put on a good show! Great way to support true local artists and have a cheap fun entertainment for the night.
Starlight Community Theater
Lively place with good drinks and even better music! Finding places like this is the midst of suburbia is GOLD! Highly recommend
Westside Blues and Jazz
Locally owned DINE IN movie theatre. Such a fun way to turn a movie night into a date night. Great food and service. You can even reasonably get a full theatre with your friends for the night in their small 8 seat theatres. Recommend their southwest ...

You might think this is silly but my wife and I had a blast here. They work with Mary's Food Bank for their compost. They have fun classes and events as well.
Arizona Worm Farm
Make you feel like you teleported to the desert before it was built up…beautiful architecture and learned a lot about what it means to live in the desert!
