We eat out far more than we should. Perhaps 2-3 times a week.
As Windsor is only ten miles away, we go there a lot.
So we have experienced all of the restaurants in this list, many of them multiple times.

Reliable chain restaurant. Good selection of popular dishes
Great location by the river.
Browns Windsor
Cote is a chain of French restaurants. Extremely popular, for good reason. The food is always excellent, and with menu options that you don’t find in the average chain restaurant.
But Cote Windsor is very special.
It is right on the edge of the Ri...

Up market restaurant and hotel right on the edge of the River Thames.
We enjoy their live music on a Sunday afternoon.
Sir Christopher Wren
Like many Wetherspoons, the architecture is quite unique.
Located literally across the road from Windsor Castle.
It is a large pub, with the usual great value Wetherspoons menu.
Being very large it can sometimes get very busy and a little noisy. ...
The King & Castle - JD Wetherspoon
This is my wife’s first choice for her birthday.
Windsor has several French restaurants, but this is the only one that feels truly independent. As a result, the menu has items that you won’t find at the chain restaurants.
It just feels more like a ...
À la Russe
Windsor branch of a very well regarded London restaurant.
The interior is very unique- some would say opulent.
For my wife and I this restaurant holds a special memory as it is where we held our wedding reception (before it was The Ivy).
The Ivy Windsor
If you haven’t been to Five Guys you’re in for a treat.
One of the best burgers ever.
The diner style is very simple.
This creates something of a contradiction. A luxurious, expensive burger in a very non luxurious environment.
Five Guys. Windsor
This is a bar, not a restaurant. But to call it a bar is a severe understatement. It is extremely unique. More of a theatrical experience, with cocktails made with overflowing dry ice, and an environment unlike any other.
Incognito
Casual dining with a comprehensive mix of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes
Antalya Restaurant Windsor
One of the best Italian restaurants. Not like any of the big chains. Family owned, private restaurant. Great fresh food, excellent service. Very much the authentic Italian experience.
Enzo's Windsor
Steakhouse and cocktail bar. Excellent steaks. A little more expensive than most, but probably worth it.
Meat At The Parish
Probably our most popular stopping point when we are shopping in Windsor. Food is good value. Lively atmosphere. Very convenient. Everything we are looking for in casual dining.
The Carpenters Arms
Don Beni is a small, local group of Italian restaurants. (Windsor, Bracknell, Crowthorne). We’ve used all of them on multiple occasions. Can’t go wrong.
Don Beni
Toby Carvery is a very popular chain with an excellent carvery with a great selection of roast meats and vegetables.
Very reliable, and great value.
Toby Carvery Old Windsor
Significantly up market restaurant in one of the best hotels in the area. We use this for special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries etc.
