Finding an advent calendar that isn't just cheap chocolate in foil was harder than I expected. These actually made each night feel like a mini event, and my kids started counting down to cocoa time instead of presents.

Some nights we burned through the advent calendar bomb AND the kids wanted seconds. Having backup cocoa bombs in the pantry saved me from disappointing faces on more than one occasion.

Pouring hot cocoa into a regular cereal bowl was killing the vibe. Once each kid got their own dedicated cocoa mug, the whole ritual leveled up and they stopped fighting over who got the ‘good cup.’

Plain hot cocoa lasted about four nights before my kids wanted upgrades. Adding a topping station to the counter took two minutes but made them feel like they were running their own little cafe.

Once the cocoa tradition stuck, we leaned all the way in. Blankets, pajamas, the whole setup. Now the kids associate these items with winding down and it honestly works better than any bedtime chart ever did.
