My closet had a mix of wire, plastic, and wooden hangers from three different decades. Nothing lined up, nothing looked uniform, and my color sections kept sliding into each other. Swapping to matching slim hangers was the first real step.

Without dividers, my neatly sorted colors blended back together within a week. Every time I shoved something back in a rush, the whole system collapsed. These keep each section locked in place.

Not everything belongs on a hanger. T-shirts, workout gear, and loungewear needed their own sorted spots on shelves. Clear bins let me see what color group I'm grabbing without pulling everything out.

My sock and underwear drawer was a black hole where colors went to die. I'd fish around for five minutes looking for a matching pair. Dividing the drawer by color family took about ten minutes and saves me time every single day.

Turns out half my color coding problems were because my closet light was a single dim bulb from 2005. I kept grabbing navy thinking it was black. Better lighting made the whole system actually functional.

Color coding only works when you're not scrolling past 40 summer tanks in January. Rotating seasonal stuff out of the main closet freed up space and made each color section manageable instead of overwhelming.

Setting up the system took one Saturday afternoon. Maintaining it is the part most people skip. A few small tools keep me honest so I don't backslide into chaos after two weeks of good intentions.
