I used to buy vests that looked great on the hanger and then crumpled into a sad rectangle by lunch. These hold structure from morning coffee to late dinner without ironing or fussing.

Not every white shirt deserves the vest treatment. Some are too thin, too boxy, or too sheer. These are the ones I actually reach for because they hold up under a structured layer without bunching.

I made the mistake of wearing a great vest with the wrong pants exactly once. Baggy joggers and a structured vest made me look like two different people stitched together. These bottoms actually finish the look.

Wrong shoes will undo everything. I once wore chunky sneakers with a vest and looked like I got dressed in two different rooms. These are the pairs I rotate through that actually make sense with the look.

The vest and shirt do most of the work, but a watch or a belt or the right bag turns it from nice outfit into people-stop-you-on-the-street territory. These are the finishing pieces I actually use.
