Pouring my first candle at 11pm on a Tuesday was the exact moment I stopped reaching for my phone before bed. The whole process is weirdly meditative, and your apartment smells incredible after.

A coworker showed me her punch needle project during lunch and I ordered a kit that same afternoon. It's repetitive in the best way — like popping bubble wrap but you end up with art.

Couldn't justify a pottery class at eighty dollars a session, so I brought the clay home. The first mug was hideous. The fifth one sits on my desk right now holding pens and I'm genuinely proud of it.

Bare apartment walls were mocking me for months. One macramé project later and suddenly my living room looks like it belongs to someone who has their life together. Spoiler: I do not.

Failed at embroidery twice in college because I picked patterns that were way too ambitious. These kits start you off with like five stitches and somehow you end up making something you want to frame.

Poured resin for the first time expecting a disaster and ended up with a coaster that looked like a tiny ocean. Now I make jewelry for friends and it costs me a fraction of what I used to spend on gifts.

Wanted to make my own wrapping paper for the holidays and fell down a block printing rabbit hole. Now I print on tote bags, tea towels, basically anything that sits still long enough.

Phone notes full of random thoughts weren't cutting it anymore. Making my own journal from scratch turned writing into something I actually look forward to instead of another screen to stare at.
