I used to just throw whatever sheets I found at the store on my bed. The day I switched to all-pink bedding, my roommate literally stopped in the doorway and said ‘wait, did you hire someone?’ No. I just stopped sleeping on sad beige.

Overhead lighting was making my room look like a hospital ward at 9pm. Switching to pink-toned lighting made everything feel warm and cozy, and now nobody wants to turn the main light on ever again.

For two years I stared at blank white walls telling myself I'd ‘get around to decorating.’ Turns out all it took was committing to a color and actually putting things up there.

The real reason nobody wanted to hang out before was probably the pile of clothes on my chair and random stuff everywhere. Pink storage meant I actually wanted to use it, which meant things got put away for once.

My desk corner used to be the most ignored part of my room. Now it's where everyone sits when they come over, mostly because the pink accessories make it look way more put-together than my actual work habits suggest.

Nothing says ‘I gave up on decorating’ quite like a bare floor with some dust bunnies. Adding pink textiles underfoot and around the room made it feel finished for the first time since I moved in.

These are the small weird things that shouldn't matter but absolutely do. The details that made people stop saying ‘cute room’ and start saying ‘I literally never want to leave.’
