Top things for the Saint Johns, Julington Creek, Durbin Area. Sorry to say St Johns is not a hot spot, but there are a few pretty good things here and it's not far from the beach.

This park is small, but really relaxing. It has a cute playground for younger kids and a short walk to the river. It's very popular for pictures.
Alpine Groves Park
Mickler's Beach can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but it's close by and if you get there early enough it has a great sunrises.
Mickler's Landing
This isn't much to do, but can be pretty to take pictures at, have a picnic or read a book. The scenery and trees are lovely.

I've eaten here several times and it's really pretty good for Italian food.

St John's is not a mecca for entertainment. We do have a movie theater though - with really nice seats!
St Johns is not know for its Arts and Entertainment, but I do love this movie theater ;-) Great seats!
Cinemark Durbin Park and XD
Not far from the Durbin Area is the St Aug Amp and they offer some decent smaller concerts in an outside setting. Usually they are from bands just starting or from long ago.
